So I recently received my code for the specializations which is great. However, even though I am not SR 50, I was wondering which specialization I should choose once I reach SR 50. What are your opinions? I would like a specialization that has a cool armor look and also has a useful mod that I can use in war games.
When you choose a specialization it’s super easy to get threw the first 5 levels but then by the end you end up needing about 65 000+ to get a level. I would suggest doing the pioneer first so you can get that xp boost.
It’s not going to help you in War Games, but it will help you overall if you get Pioneer and get the fast track mod for the added XP as long as you’re equipped with it.
I kind of wish I’d chosen it now. I think it’s going to be my next one.
I agree with the two above me. Pioneer helps out with xp, that’s the little perl about it. Afterwards it’s mostly just personal preference.
While we’re on the topic how effective is the Stalker’s nemesis mod?
Pioneer should be the best option for ranking up. But, it doesn’t fit number 1. It just kinda depends on your playstyle really. IGN has a wiki for the Specializations.

Just so you know, you do not have to wear the specialization’s armor.
That is just how you unlock it.
You will eventually unlock them all. So, I recommend doing it based on your favorite ability or armor.
If you do BTB or Dominion. I think that the Operator’s “Wheelman” perk has a noticeable difference.
Pioneer is the only answer. It lets you level through the other specializations faster.

I do not play much BTB but what does “Wheelman” perk do?
are you stuck with the name of the last one you choose i really wanna do wetwork but i want the specilation name to be my permanent one when im done. anyone know? i heard you cant change your stuck with the last one you do when you reach the cap.
Well if you play infinity slayer, I recommend Tracker. It is amazing! You get to re roll your ordinance. It has saved me countless times.
But, if you don’t like it, I would then choose Operator. It makes your vehicles last longer and more resistant to EMP blasts.
If that is STILL not your style, I would try Rogue. It makes you flinch a lot less when getting shot, so if you are a sharpshooter, it is perfect.
If that STILL is not you, then Pathfinder. It is perfect for people who like machine gun turrets, warthog gunners, or mantis chaingun. It decreases the overheat on all and you get normal walkspeed.
IMO, the rest are sorta useless. (I will be doing rougue or stalker next, stalker for visor color, rogue for mod)
Pioneer only adds like 1000 max. And that’s when I’m on double xp doing a spartan ops mission. I’m not sure if it always adds 1000 or if it’s a %age, but I’d say none of them are good tbh. I have rogue, pioneer, operator, and wetwork complete and really, the only somewhat helpful one is Stability from rogue, and that’s pretty much only on BTB, and it replaces Ammo, which you pretty much need anyways…unless you die alot.
I still say mobility and dexterity are better than all specializations.
honestly, i don’t think anyone can tell you which specialization you should pick. it all depends on your play style. i first did rouge (i pre-ordered limited edition) because i use precision weapons, and stability is great for it.
if you like driving then get operator
if you like gunning then use pathfind
if you can gain a lot of kills in slayer games then use tracker
etc.
I completed wetwork and operator about a week ago and as soon as I got my code I picked pioneer. I want to get the fast track perk from it early on so I actually get some use out of it.
Think about it, the perk you get for maxing pioneer becomes completely useless when you cap, better to get pioneer maxed early on in my opinion.
It really depends on you play style ive done wetwork operator pathfinder pioneer and now im on rogue so far though I like pioneer and pathfinder fasttrack makes lvl up a breeze and gunner mod I mean who doesnt like being able to RUN with a big ol’ turret wiping out enemies
Definitely Pioneer! It takes forever to get through the last 4 or 5 ranks of a Specialization, and more XP definitely helps! After that, it just depends on your playstyle and what you think sounds helpful.
Pioneer should be first for everyone. Fast Track is good for an additional 400-500 xp per match if you use it the whole match. It also grants you +5 xp per normal kill (IE not a headshot, not a splatter, etc). So make sure to have your loadout use automatics to take advantage of this. You will get ordinance drops faster with this ability.
After that its just personal preference. I am using pathfinder because I love using turrets and George was a personal favorite of mine in Reach.
