I’m gonna buy one of the older soundtracks in order to compare it to Halo 4’s. Which one of the soundtracks (halo 1-3) was Marty’s best?
I’m not counting ODST or Reach, cause MC isn’t in either, and they aren’t really part of the original trilogy.

Or you could just listen to all of them on Youtube.
Save your money, it isn’t really worth it.

I would, but I rather have my music anytime anywhere and not have to rely on the bad quality and required internet of youtube.
Halo 2 had the best soundtrack in my opinion and a shame the campaign wasn’t good enough to back it up.
I LOVED the halo 3 soundtrack
I seriously recommend it
For me it’s either Halo 2 or ODST.
Marty’s was the best. Go for it. I like Halo 4’s, but it has abandoned the original theme for halo music.
Martin O’Donnel was given a task, “make something that sounds ancient and alien”
he did that beautifully. Halo 4 does not sound ancient or alien at all. Lack of Gregorian monk chanting is a giant indicator. Reach didnt have any either, but it was hardly about the Forerunners. Now with Halo 4 being focused around the Forerunners you would think that they would go back to the original “ancient and alien” feel, but no, instead of Gregorian monks, we get moaning and groaning. I mean seriously every single game/movie out there has this new moaning and groaning during “emotional” or “important” scenes. Halo was always unique for using the Gregorian chant, but now halo has just conformed to the norm.
guess halo will just be lost in the crowd like the rest of the entertainment industry.
Halo 2 is the best Imo but deciding specifically which soundtrack is the best is impossible for me. But any one of them from Halo 1-3 beats Neil’s music, Marty is at whole different level. I can’t wait to see what Marty does for destiny.
One of my recommendations would be flawed legacy, oh how I adore that soundtrack.
