One often overlooked aspect of Halo that makes it unique from many other shooters is the fact that its reticles vary from weapon to weapon. What’s more, they remain consistent between games, providing each weapon across the series with its own distinct feel.
Bungie kept their reticles pretty much exactly the same across all five of their games, even when they introduced bloom. 343i changed it up quite a bit in Halo 4, but for the most part kept them the same in Halo 5.
Which reticles would you like to see in Halo Infinite?
• Bungie’s original crosshairs as seen in Halos CE, 2, 3, ODST and Reach?
• 343i’s current crosshairs as seen in Halo 4 and 5?
• Something entirely new? - Please explain.
As long as they’re static, without bloom. Also, hit markers should be optional (but preferrably non-existant). Most of all, reticles are best when they’re minimalistic, not unnecessarily fancy.
Let’s say Halo 3 design.
Hmmm I honestly haven’t really played attention to the variations in reticles that much to be honest. The only one I really noticed a change would be the BR. To me it’s honestly not a big deal among as they all look good, which they do to me in H5, but if I had the chance to change one I’d change the BR back to the classic design rather than the H5 circle.

Have a look next time you play the games. The reticles across Bungie’s games are very consistent. The reticles across Halo 4 and 5 are mostly consistent as well, but between Bungie’s and 343i’s games, they’re really quite different.

I’d be surprised if 343i go back to the static reticles, but I’d definitely welcome the return.
Personally, I don’t believe hit markers are necessary. Bungie never needed them because we received other displays to signify that we hit our mark, i.e. enemy shields lighting up, blood spraying out, enemies flinching, enemies groaning, etc. As long as we still have those very Halo, very animated reactions to our hits, we don’t need hit markers (which are a feature in other shooters, not Halo).

An option between the old static reticles, and the new dynamic ones.

I did mention in the my last comment that I’d be happy for the static reticles to return, but that’s not really what I was referring to. Halo Reach and Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer both feature classic Bungie reticles with bloom. However, that said, I am interested in hearing your elaboration.
One of the things I love about 343i’s game design is their set of reticles. They feel more natural to use and simply look cooler. The BR reticle, for example, feels more “open” than the classic one. So, I’d like to see the newer reticles make a return.

Honestly, I quite like the BR one too. Actually, now I think about it, I like all of 343i’s UNSC reticle designs, but I’m not a fan of their Covenant or Promethean ones. I definitely prefer Bungie’s when it comes to the Covenant at least.

Something new. Let us customise our own, choose if we want them all the same or different, add or remove bloom etc. I would like that.
