I’ve seen conflicting information when it comes to which req packs I should concentrate on “buying”.
I’ve read that getting silvers is the best, but then I’ve heard that saving up for gold will give you permanent unlocks faster. Can anyone decipher for me?
From what I heard, it is the best to buy all bronze reqs after that all silver and after that you buy Gold.
This should save you Req Points in the longrun and you get better unlocks.
Bronze -> Silver -> Gold
Knock out all the common itmes AKA MONGOOSES
Move onto Silver and get rid of Uncommon and Rare
When you get to Gold it’ll be nothing but Ultra Rare and Legendary goodies.
Silver then Gold is the best way of doing things. You can start with Bronze as well since they have somewhere around 80% of giving you 1 common permanent unlock, but I was somewhere around 40% and decided to only go for Silver then Gold method
I bought silvers for a long time then the other day I went through and sold a bunch of REQ cards and bought a crap ton of bronze and cleared out all of my common REQs.
I started off buying bronze packs because they’re cheap and they’ll make it quicker to unlock the lower level common items and weapons. After I stopped unlocking items from bronze I stuck to them only buying silver so I’m getting at least uncommon and sometimes rare unlockables. After I stop getting those I might buy gold but we’ll see.
Bronze to silver then to gold. Warzone assault will always guarantee you enough req points for 1 bronze pack. And the games last at least 6 minutes. Best gamemode to grind down points. Do not worry about dead pulls. The cost of 4 bronze packs is equal to 1 silver. So if you were to have 5000 req points, you have a chance to get up to 4 permanent unlocks vs 2 unlocks from a silver. Not only that you have to play at most 5 games to get a silver, only to possibly get 2 commons? With bronze it’s consistent because you can buy it after every warzone assault match which is better than waiting 4 to 5 games or playing 2 or 3 Warzone games for a silver. And save any RP boost or jackpots for silver and gold packs.
From my time spent on it so far, Bronze packs, while cheap, are basically useless because there is no guarantee of a permanent unlock. They’re only good for very base items, which may be good to start (shotguns, BRs, etc.).
I’ve been focusing on Silver packs myself, and they seem to be working well for me. If I play for a couple of hours (particularly in Warzone) I usually get 10,000+ credits, good for at least two Silver packs. What’s nice about Silver packs is that you’re guaranteed a permanent unlock, up to rare value cards too. So I’ve been getting everything from rare Warthogs to fuel rods to armor unlocks. If you’re trying to build your armory for completion the fastest, that’s the route I’d go. Additionally, unless you’re super competitive about Warzone, sell your REQ cards you don’t care about so as to continue to build more credits… 50 a sale, or more when you get some rare unlocks, add up!
Gold REQ cards are seemingly the best on paper, but they’re also the cost of two silvers, and there’s a chance that the unlocks you get in Gold you could have also gotten in Silver as well. That said, if you’re looking for rare / legendary items out of the gate, that’s your best bet!
As much as I’m not the biggest fan of warzones, if you’re pretty decent at it you can get 1500 to 2000+ req points per game. I ranked up in only about five or six matches (I’m in the mid 60s level-wise). But I filled up almost all my common unlockables which is why I’m focusing on silver packs now. Because if you waste your money buying silver packs before unlocking most of the common items you’ll just end up getting those lower ranked items when you could be getting uncommon or rare items instead.
I only buy Gold packs. That way, I’ll never unlock commons, and without commons, you have more room for more rare REQs. It has done me well so far. Yeah, there’s a few frustrating times where I get two pieces of armor, but it was all worth it unlocking Gauss Hogs and the Loathsome Thing.

Silver packs take way longer to obtain. 4 to 5 games to only get a silver pack for 2 common permanent reqs? Warzone assault is guaranteed to give you enough req points for 1 bronze packs. The cost of 4 bronze packs is equal to 1 silver, so you have a chance to get up to 4 permanent req items if you were to save up 5000 req points. Doesn’t matter if you get dead pulls, it’s because its so cheap that a quick game of warzone assault you can keep buying them after every match and the matches can be very short.
Essentially, silver will get you two permanents without fail, and can drop common, uncommon, and rare REQs. Gold will get you two permanents without fail, and can drop rare, ultra rare, and legendary REQs. I would recommend to start by getting silvers and occasionally bronzes to fill up on the lower level REQs. Once you have a decent amount of permanent rare REQs, you can start getting golds if you want because you now have a lower chance of getting a rare permanent instead of ultra rare or legendary. This is the most effective strategy IMO. Also, just to clarify if you aren’t entirely sure, “permanent” refers to helmets, armor, visors, emblems, stances, assassinations, weapon skins, loadout weapons, armor mods, power weapon certifications, vehicle certifications, and power-up certifications.
Thanks for the info all - I’ve updated the thread with a poll.
I just stick to silver. Took the bronze path before but got tired of seeing needlers and mongooses.
Grind silver till you’ve got it all then go Gold.
Opening up Gold packs with only the high rated stuff is the best feeling
Get all of the silvers, then go gold. It’s totally not worth getting a silver level permanent in a gold pack.
Well I’ve clearly been doing it wrong all this time. I’ve waited and gotten nothing but gold up to this point, and have been continually pissed off when I unlock crappy weapons like a boltshot and a scout warthog. That probably explains it.
I’d do bronze at least mixed with silver until you have almost everything common unlocked. I unlocked a ton of common stuff early on with bronze packs. And then you get most of the cost of the pack back after selling useless items like mongooses and scout warthogs.
Bronze -> Silver -> Gold.
This is the best course of doing things, and you’ll consistently unlock permanents faster this way.

Agreed, this is another good way to do it, and if you play war zone you’ll easily earn enough for a bronze pack, but if you sell the non-permanent items back you usually have enough to buy a second before even playing another game.
