Which Playlist is the hardest to play?

All ive played recently is team doubles and sometimes you get matched against teams that read you like a book. They shift around the map like they are looking at your screen. I think Team Doubles is one of the hardest playlist because teamwork and timing is crucial.

As a general rule the more players the less individual skill matters, and the lower the amount of players the more it matters (to the point where in 1v1 matches it’s ALL that matters).

I feel it’s important to emphasize though that being more difficult isn’t one and the same as being more competitive. Sure, Team Snipers is difficult, but it lacks all the assorted depth that other gametypes involve and thus is less strategic. Warzone can also be very difficult, if only because there exists the potential to have extremely lopsided balance between teams.

Team Doubles would definitely be at the top, or near the top.
Team Snipers.
Warzone
Team Objective
Team Slayer
BTB

Team Arena by far so many teams training for HCS and they take their training very seriously. Diamond Team Arena may be the Hardest Teir on any playlist to pass into onyx

i got matched against a champion and a friend of his who was unranked when im only Plat in dubs… I got spawn killed three times right off the bat. Since i search alone my teammate didnt use his mic like every other halo game. No one talks anymore

Doubles would probably be at the top for me if I’m searching alone, with a friend it would be around 3rd. If I have a good friend that knows what I’m going to do, we do great almost every game.

  1. Doubles
  2. Arena
  3. Breakout

Doubles takes teamwork to the extreme. But it’s also very campy and power weapons are too strong (rockets spawning with 4 shots in dubs is stupid). Arena is very much about setups, spawns and coordination and since H5 lacks a proper hardcore playlist this is the closest you get. Breakout is extremely reliant on coordination, callouts and individual skill.

Dubs needs to be tweaked, power weapons have regular magazine sizes like in 4v4 matches.

The people preparing for HCS aren’t diamond or even low Onyx rank.

From what I’ve experienced, most Diamonds in Arena are a fair bit less skilled than an average Diamond Slayer, it’s not until a bit into Onyx that it shifts the other way.

The thing is that mindlessly, non-strategically rushing the objective often times works on non-communicating teams, so a lot of Gold/Platinum players end up with low Diamond in Arena and low-mid Diamonds can manage to just barely get Onyx through playing like a one-direction zombie. That isn’t an option in Slayer, so it at least filters out the players to some degree.

The difficulty jump doesn’t occur at the Diamond/Onyx breaking point (1500 CSR), but more like 1600+ or 1700+ because that’s the people who are actually winning on their Onyx. 1500-1600 Onyx’s are mostly high diamonds who had a nice and/or lucky win streak, but they don’t consistently win against other Onyx and play very different from the 1700+ folks. From post-game lobbies, I see Diamond 6 guys almost always at least match or out-perform the low Onyx, though the 1700+ Onyx are on a completely different level.

FFA is not for the faint of heart. I’m talking explosions at spawn. I’m talking power weapon camping. I’m talking getting shot in the back more times than you see enemy players. No one is there to help you and only one will have the victory. It takes mettle to earn your rank in FFA.

There is some lluck involved in FFA though. Especially if you catch to people fighting you can clean them both up.

I don’t play FFA at all. Too difficult. too many people to watch. Nobody has your back. Not fun. the onyl game I play FFA on is Gears of War Judgment. I didn’t play that often. That had 20 players but few power weapons and the maps were plenty big enough so you were not constantly attacked from all angles.

You don’t have to come in first place to rank up in FFA though

What do you guys think about swat? I always thought it was one of the harder playlists since you have almost no chance to turn a fight around (individual fight, not the overall match).

it s the easiest (“in halo 5 only”)

Team Arena, due to HCS Settings and no other game mode has the same

FFA is the toughest for me. I either find myself putting in a lot of damage for no results, or end up running around the map for half the game looking other players.

At least in team matches dealing out damage helps your team. In FFA it does nothing unless you get the kill or prevent the top player from getting a kill.

I think this thread was three years old. Please don’t revive old topics thanks
