Which one is it??

So when thinking of a way to make everyone happy with the matchmaking system. I came to the thought that what if some people want to play halo 3 style casually or play halo 4 style competitively. Does the majority want halo 3 or just a balanced halo 4 system. Because I know people keep saying they want it like halo 3 with no AA’s and loadouts, do they mean the gameplay or the balance that a lot of people enjoyed.

Speaking for myself (and I sense I represent a minority in one respect) my biggest gripe about Halo 4 wasn’t necessarily the inclusion of armor abilities and the like - I sort of just accepted that these were trends in gaming and that it was inevitable. I didn’t necessarily like it - a lot of them were ridiculous but honestly things like sprint I thought were long overdue.

My biggest gripe was that there wasn’t a ranked playlist.

If there was a simple distinction between ranked and socials playlists, I’d still be playing Halo 4 to this day armor abilities, loadouts and all.

To make me beyond happy, that’s all 343 would need to do. I can deal with overpowered weapons and armor abilities, and those are things that can be and balanced over time. I think we’re inevitably going to see the return of Infinity Slayer for better or worse. They’re going to try and make it better, but we’re not going to see the end of things like armor abilities and loadouts - I think that’s just here to stay (unless Halo 2 Anniversary comes out).

So give me Ranked Slayer (doubles, team, big team, swat etc) and Ranked Objective (king of the hill, regicide, ball, capture the flag etc) and then set apart a social playlist, I’ll be the happiest gamer alive.

I don’t necessarily want a Halo 3 clone but what I want is for Halo to stay a balanced arena shooter with equal starts and weapons on map. Also no more ordnance drops, we already have enough power weapons to worry about.
