Which old maps would you like in Infinite?

ask for help when you need something to move or spin. there are scripters on here who will help on something important like Zanzibar. I have a post stating what you would want in forge, maybe you can post on there that you need help making the wind mill spin. that seems simple, fans have made a ball roll, bounce, and spin.

I really liked WaterWorks from Halo 2… I think I might be the only one though

Someone on YT is remaking it right now so you’re not the only one

To be honest back in the days I tried to remake Zanzibar in H5, and did some scripts, but it doesn’t work good. I believe there are a couple of another guys who tried it too, but without a success until some moment, I mean you can find a video on YT with working mill and it works really good and smooth.
But in Infinite nodes/scripts looks too complicated to me, so yeah maybe I’ll ask someone for help, but at first I’ll try some tutorials and see how it will go, maybe I’ll handle this idk.

It seems like all you need to know is what makes something spin in a windmill form. I just saw yesterday a post on Reddit a video of scripting an action on a wall, that activated a proximity wall breeching mine, and it worked. Somehow you can make a before and after visual as well as a animated part. It was incredible to see, and I hope it wasn’t just some photoshopped video lol.

But yes I love Waterworks too, think the grapple hook will work great on that map. And it would be amusing to see the actual waterworks structure to do it’s animated pump drop with proximity sound and dust/pebble falling effects. I do hope that everything is possible in this game which would make it really Infinite! Keep on keeping on!

This guy knows! Bring Halo back to it’s former glory 343!

Yo this guy in video made a spiral spin hallway. I bet you he can make propeller spin. I would send him a message on the video and get his gamertag. Search " animated spiral spin hallway halo infinite" on YT. I also tried the map ascension and that forger also needed a “spinning” script

Yeah, I watched it a couple of days ago.
The thing is in both videos(there is another with pyramids spinning getting shots) it’s a single objects, not grouped objects I believe.
I mean I’m not sure how hallway was done, because it’s not a common spinning, so maybe creator used some parent objects to make everything works or maybe it’s just kinda smart scripting, but as I said I have some issues with parent objects.
Additionally idk why, but I’m unable to group some dynamic objects with different physics.
For example with phased and normal physics. Some of them can be grouped only when both physics are normal.
Upd.
OK, I watched it one more time. Yeah maybe that guy used some group of objects, because there is not just only hallway, but additional piece that blocking doorway after rotation.

Zanzibar/Last Resort

To be honest I would like to maps that are combined together.
For example H2C Midship, H3 Guardian, H3 The Pit made into one new map.

Maps that have never received a remake before is what 343 should focus on this time around, there are even maps going back to Combat Evolved that never received any kind of remakes like Boarding Action or Chiron TL-34. I would be more interested in seeing something like that than another remake of the Pit or Midship or Lockout once again, which have been remade to death.

It seems the guy who made Ascension also can’t get the middle structure to move

I think the answer to your question is to save every object as a prefab. Have you tried that? I don’t even know how to save a prefab lol. But if you group them like that doesn’t the forge engine solidify the actions of the whole prefab? I remember there’s there’s more important reasons for prefabs I watched in a video.

I played on a few of the remakes for lockout, warlock, turf sanctuary. I even played on the gears of wars canals, and gridlock. And if these maps aren’t rescaled for the correct size for Infinite which is almost 1.5 or even 2 times as big. They just feel too small.

However, some of the forge BTB maps are way too big for the amount of people in party. So yes there is a fine line between perfect and wrongly sized maps. I wish these forgers would take that into consideration. But I bet it’s incredibly difficult to resize halfway through.

Yo Deep, was that your Zanzibar I played on last night in a custom. Nicely spaced and a nice version of Stone Town, and ya the wheel was stationary lol. But it played very well, unlike some of these slightly too small remakes.

Oh I also saw a YT of a working dust tornado. Maybe that guy knows how to make stuff spin, cuz everything you shot into it followed the vortex, rockets and all.

No, it’s not mine, if we are talking about the same Zanzibar)
By the way, unfortunately I’m kinda get bored a little bit, so the process became way slower. Last two days I did nothing for example just remade some geometry. I think I need a small break to return with a new passion)

I would love to play on Valhalla, Blood Gulch, Sandtrap (with the Elephant) and Zanzibar in Halo Infinite.

Okay, well no one has figured a spinning structure yet, so till that is mastered, then it doesn’t matter too much. That’s also why I’m making maps that no one else is trying to make. Everyone is making remakes and if they aren’t perfect 1:1 then the map doesn’t play right. Bungie knew what they were doing when they made the originals back in halo 2. Certain rocks in the right places or everything at the right level has made me appreciate the originals more than the remakes if I find myself missing the crucial spots for cover
