So I want the community’s technical opinion because I am thinking about swapping out my TVs for the time being.
Beta is only 720p, so…
Both TV’s are kind of old DLPs I have. Both had the bulbs replaced not that long ago so I anticipate the same working life.
A. Current Setup. Mitsubishi 57 inch. Pros: Does 1080p, not sure of the framerate. Unsure how to find model number because of largest Con. Con: BOTH hdmi ports have become extremely unreliable. It takes about ten-fifteen minutes of repeated plugging and finagling to get the hdmi to work (only way to get 1080p), BUT CURRENTLY WORKS, as long as I don’t touch a single cord behind the stand.
B. Prospective Setup. Toshiba 72 inch. Pros: Larger, newer bulb. Unsure of framerate. Ports work great. Cons: ONLY DOES 1080i/720p, about a year older.
Side note- anyone know where/how to find a TV’s framerate? Does it differ by TV or is there a universal test/database someone knows about?
the best TV’s ive noticed are Samsung’s and Vizios, heres the kicker, Vizios are about half the price and are made out of Samsung parts. I’ve a 55’’ Vizio

I cannot agree with that. I have a 30inch vizio but I actually prefer to sit on a couch. Sitting at a glorified computer monitor just makes gaming seem like work
If you are thinking about getting a new TV make sure it has a game mode built in, ive got a new Samsung 65" and it has some lag untill you stick it in Game mode.

I sit on the couch as well, I have a 32in Sony that’s 720p, works fantastic. I have played on a 19in TV plenty of times, better gaming experience if you are competitive. You nailed it though, if I am not sitting on the couch relaxing, it feels like work.

You are correct, you don’t get an extra grenade or a special gun for using a smaller screen.
There is a reason why the majority of competitive gaming is done on a smaller screen.
