EDIT:Completely forgot about Adrift. XD I love this map. This is up there with Haven and Abandon. Very good map.

My top 3 favorite Halo 4 maps are:

Haven-Arguably the best map in Halo 4. It has what we have come to love from the Halo series. Close quarters fighting, and intense played out battles with many different routes and strategic angles to get the jump on your enemy.

Abandon-IMO this is the Lockout of Halo 4. There is the center platform at the top of the map that everybody tries to control. Plenty of side pathways and platforms for other skirmishes give this map an extremely strategic feel. Plus the freaky monsters in the test tubes look cool.

Exile-Not exactly a BTB map, but too big for a 4v4 game. This map has a lot of fun (and annoying) encounters with vehicles, and power weapons. Since it is more or less symmetrical it plays well with CTF and regular Slayer.

Now for my complaints. Halo 4 shines best in 4v4 close quarter maps. This is why Lockout (Halo 2) and Guardian (Halo 3) were so successful and some of the best maps in any Halo game ever. What I don’t understand is why they would ship the game with so few small maps? The only good 4v4 maps are Haven, Abandon and Solice. Don’t get me started on Complex. That is a waste of a map where if you have a DMR you win in pretty much every engagement. They should have taken out Complex and Longbow (never even get to play it, no one ever picks it, wasn’t impressed) and made 2 maps similar to Haven in aspects of play-style, but completely different in architecture. A map on a covenant ship would have been awesome, or an underground Flood infested cave or SOMETHING. As for the rest of the BTB maps like Ragnorak and Exile, they are fine, but there are too many of them!

As for the Crimson Map Pack, I’m really not impressed. 2 more BTB maps and 1 kinda (eh) small medium map that looks bland? Ugh. Give us a remake of Midship or Foundation! I really, really hope that the next 2 map packs give us a map like Haven.

So what is your favorite map and if you have any complaints about other maps?

My favorite maps are: Abandon, I like it because it’s the multi-leveled and the scenery looks cool. Meltdown, I don’t know why, but I like it. It would also work well with 5v5. Haven, as you said, i works very well with any gametype. As for the complaints, I don’t have any… yet.

I agree with you. Don’t you agree that there should be more small, fast paced 4v4 maps though?

I hate all the maps. They are so convoluted and yet they lack intricacies the of any halo 2 or 3 map. Core changes to the game mechanics even makes valhala play completely different. The only map I am partial to is adrift, and I loathe haven!

Im with you. There are only 3 maps I really enjoy playing on, Exile, Longbow and Complex. But even then, I don’t like those maps nearly as much I liked any map from Halo CE, 2, 3 or Reach

i love haven, but its way to over played, adrift comes in second, with abandon trailing third.

Ive played BTB on all the BTB maps, but the only ones that get played are Ragnarok and Exile, maybe Longbow sometimes.

But seriously, arena style shooter with little to no selection of arena style maps?

Also complex 4v4 is the death of me and i dashboard everytime i have to play it. Its not a good 4v4 map by any standards, and its never going to end up being a close game, one team will always rein down upon the other on that hell of a playspace.
