Which looks better?

Hi I’m currently working on a halo 4 machinima and have been experimenting in sony vegas applying different effects to the video to try and make it look darker, and was wondering if you guys could give me an opinion on which one I should use if any.

Original NO FX

FX 1

FX 2

I like the second one, you should use that.

You could just darken it with a video editor with better results…

This was darkened with sony vegas and I screen capped it with the 2 types of FX I applied to it

FX1 looks great!

FX1 looks great. I like the saturation on FX2, but it seems too bloomy (probably the game’s visual bloom being brought out by the contrast tweaks).

Thank you, I tried fx 2 with some Battlefield gameplay and it looked way too powerful. On halo 4 it is more subtle but still a bit blurry, maybe if I tweak it some more I can get that fine balance, the character model looks alot better with fx2 but everything else seems to be washed out.

Thanks all for your input, FX 1 seems to be a clear winner.

Oh one more thing, where can I post links to finished video when it is done? Will the halo 4 forum do or would I put it somewhere else?

Both look great, but I believe that I prefer FX1 over FX2. The main problem with FX2 is that a fair amount of detail is washed away by the bloom. FX1 looks crisp, and really brings out how good the game looks.

This one looks really good…

I like #1. #2 Kinda looks “dreamy”.
Halo 4 is pretty.

FX 1 was pretty sweet. I love Dark tones
