Just curious since I haven’t heard anything about it yet.
I have a feeling that they still don’t speak English, but it’d make my day if they did. All I want is to hear Grunts scream for their lives and know what they’re saying.
Does anyone know which language they speak?
They are speaking there own language as i was told. Too bad they are not speaking English. I would’ve really enjoyed hearing the Grunts and their hilarious comments.

Grunts will occasionally speak some english, the grunt said “demon” at e3
They covenant will speak their native languages, each species has its own.

Elites speak Wortish
Hunters speack Gurgles
And Jackals…well who gives a -Yoink- about Jackals.

I’ve always been under the impression that jackals are always extremely high and don’t even know what’s going on.

Darn…Oh well. I personally still don’t see why Bungie decided to go back to their native languages for Halo: Reach, despite the fact that it only took place weeks before Halo:CE and they could speak English in that…One would also think that they would speak English in a game that takes place years after Halo: CE.
I’ll live without the English, but I think that it truly does make the games more enjoyable when you know what they’re saying.
From the terminal video, those elites sound like they’re speaking Japanese.

Jackals will speak drunk alien pirate.
When they’re scared, they’ll speak sober alien pirate.
When they’re dead, they’ll speak dead alien pirate.
Just like in Reach, the aliens will mock you in their own tongues as you cower in beneath dirt.
This could just be for the Storm Covies though, i’m sure if Arby appeared at sometime in the trilogy he would be speaking English.
