In my opinions, these are the maps that don’t work that well:
-
Black Friday: I admit that this map looks amazing. It picked up on that “Dawn of the Dead” atmosphere with the mall setting. However, I feel the map itself is too open. So much to the point where if a group of survivors huddle in the upstairs cafe/plaza area, they’re going to survive full rounds without much adversity. I know of this because I’ve done it many times. IMO, they should change certain areas/expand the mall to allow more flanking routes for the Infected and make the map “less open” by blocking long ranged sight lines. - Power Installation 484: The one thing that makes this make a bit less interesting is that crate in the basement. Everyone huddles down there and blocks off access to the “back door” by pushing a giant crate into the opening, thus forcing the rest to be bottle necked into the long and narrow sight-lines… I think they should make a simple adjustment by removing the movable crate entirely (or make it stick to the floor so it cannot be moved). - The Crypt: It looks nice and spooky, but it suffers from being too open i.e. offering huge sight-lines for the survivors to easily pick off the infected. People either camp on the middle bridge or huddle on top of rock formations to pick you off from nearly halfway across the map.Off topic: No more motion sensors for the survivors.
I agree, especially about Black Friday and Power Installation 484.

Damn those are my two favorite maps… Black Friday hasn’t given me issues as infected, but Power Installation can be a pain in the -Yoink- sometimes.

I just hate when 2 or 3 survivors bottle up in that “one” corner with rockets and too much shotgun ammo. Its hard to get in there when that happens
Those are the same 3 maps I can’t stand to play on as infected. Black Friday can be fun as an alpha if you use the nice little clamber route from the bottom floor of that plaza area to surprise survivors on the top, but it’s so open and easily covered from both sides.
Crypt is pretty broken because of the rock formations. To get to a survivor on top of one, you have to aim and hover and hope you get a red reticle before they see you on radar. There are usually multiple survivors, so you have to get lucky or hope they’re distracted.
The power installation is the worst to play as infected because of that safe room on the bottom level. If the room gets blocked off with the box, all you need is survivors with the gauss turret and the Hydra and you can easily survive the whole round.
Those are the three maps where survivors consistently win, and the ones I hate being an alpha on.
I think my favorite so far is the drilling platform. There isn’t one area that is OP, survivors have to cover multiple angles, and there aren’t any crazy power weapons. If you’re a last man standing, it’s gonna be a fight.
