Which Halo Should I Get?

So there’s a pretty good chance that im finally going to be getting an Xbox One for Christmas. And I was wondering if I should get Halo: MCC or Halo: 5. I kinda want Halo MCC because it has split-screen that way me and my little brother can play together but at the same time I also want Halo 5 because it’s newer and has an amazing forge in my opinion.

You should get the MCC. You get four games on one disc, and they all support split screen. And trust me, not having split screen in Halo 5 is a real bummer.

The Master Chief Collection is a must for any Halo fan. I still need to get it myself.

Definitely Halo: The Master Chief Collection! You can also get Halo Spartan Assault for free!

Get MCC. If you have a PC that meets requirements (detailed here), you can get Halo 5’s Forge for free on it. Lets you Forge and play Custom Games.

Probably master chief collection, 4 good campaigns,(5 if you include odst), a solid forge in h2a and h4 though not as good as Halo 5s, splitscreen, moderate amount of customization and multiplayer content. Though if you like forge that much, halo 5 would be best.

Depends on what you want…MCC has four great campaigns (five if you get the odst DLC) and a mediocre one in Spartan Ops. The matchmaking is pretty awesome classic goodness and as you stated you can play with your brother. There are some population concerns (swing by the MCC section and give it a read) which may leave a bit longer than normal wait for matches. It’s also cheaper at the moment than H5

Halo 5’s campaign is okay (The story is bad), but the multiplayer is pretty bloody good. It’s probably the most fun I’ve had with Halo’s multiplayer since H3 on the 360. Even though MCC has more content, you’ll probably play Halo 5 for a longer period of time.

I recommend both, but which you get first is a matter of what is more important to you; campaign or multiplayer.

You should get TMCC, if you play with your little brother, you should teach him starting with the campaings, and talking about campaings, you will really miss all the one from The MC Collection, they are just awsome!

Agreed. I would be perfectly happy to downgrade to get split screen back or at least have to option to do so.

Absolutely Master Chief Collection. It offers much more content and a more varied experience overall, in comparison to Halo 5. It has quite a few more offline-capable features than Halo 5 as well.

ALL OF THEM!!! Buy the MCC (and it’s ODST DLC), buy Halo 5 and buy Halo: Reach (it’s backwards compatible).

If you were a Halo fan in the past, then you should definitely get MCC. Halo 5 has changed up the Halo gameplay formula way too much and it really doesn’t play like a Halo game.

MCC, it has every halo game to date (except reach and wars and the mobile games)

Actually, you should get Halo Reach

If you really want a new experience, Halo 5, but MCC is basically essential for Xbox One libraries.

If you really want to get into Halo, get the MCC. But the direction that Halo seems to be going, it probably wont be around much longer, get Gears instead, it’s the better exclusive IMO.
