Which Halo is your favorite multiplayer in MCC?

Halo 3 hands down. I enjoy playing all titles, but H3 scratches an itch that isn’t quite captured else where. The Br doesn’t feel like a laser, and controls feel solid. The only other title that comes close is H2A, with its superior netcode, but everything comes at you a little too quick.

I respect your choice of H4. For me H4 was great but not amazing. I would definitely take it over Reach. Reach’s blooming rifle alone made me hate that game.

CE, with 2 as a close second.

I agree I would rather play Halo 4 legendary BR starts than TU Team DMR Slayer for Reach.

Here’s my order:

H2C, Halo 3, H2A

CE is fun occasionally and I hate H4.

H4 Legendary BR is my favourite gamemode ever. I feel like it fixed a lot of the flaws with the game.

I think that the big problem with Halo 4’s multiplayer is the default settings. I hated the ordinance drops and loadout stuff, which made the Spartans feel way over the top. But with forge and custom settings, all that garbage can be removed. The reason why I enjoyed Halo 4 so much though is because the weapons are extremely fun to use. Though I’m sure that most people will disagree with me, I thought that the promethean weapons were really unique and fun to use as well. The only drawback is that they don’t include elites in the multiplayer.

@Echo_Alpha9694, it isn’t that simple unfortunately. Adding traditional weapon spawns on every map is tedious work that requires a lot of careful consideration. It isn’t something I’d ever recommend someone do themselves.

Halo 3 by far. Halo Reach and Halo 2 would be in second place.

Interesting list. I am interested how old you were when Halo 3 came out.

I have a long running thesis that your favorite Halo is the one you played whenever you were first introduced to the series.

I was in college when Halo came out in 2001 and find Halo 1 & 2 are my favorites of the series, but I have younger cousins that we play Halo together to this day every week, and they like either 3 or Reach as their favorite since that was the ones they were introduced to first.

I’m 30 now, started with CE’s release in 2001. But I think your theory is probably right most of the time, personally I feel like that’s the case particularly for players who think Reach is the best.

That’s true. For me it took around an hour to set up a map with default weapon spawns. Plus there’s a lot of people who simply don’t ever use forge. In the end, it’s a great multiplayer, but with a catch, which is unfortunate.

Tried the halo 2A mp and it does feel really smooth and fun. But people forget about ODST and Reach firefight. In my opinion the halo 5 custom games might be the best and its forge too.

It actually is that simple. 2 hours in Forge and 343 could make an alternate map with classic weapon spawns and no ordinance, 10 minutes to make a game type without it.

I may be able to disprove your thesis, I started with Halo 3, played it for about 2.5 years, then Reach launched. Over the years I absolutely hate Halo 3, not just because I find it boring, but because the Halo purists make it look bad by association with them.

The only halo game I dislike is Halo 2 and ODST
