Which halo game play will be most like Infinity?

I think the multi-player will be most like Halo 5.

halo 4 seen that there is no boost with the spartan

I saw a video and some discussion that the target audience in terms of age / numbers is those who grew up with Reach.

So I wouldn’t be surprised if the general feel is Reach.

The gameplay will be mid-way between H2 and H5.

A perfect blend of 3 and 5. Probably will feel a bit closer to 5 gunplay wise much mechanically will be a lot like 3.

  • Weapons on maps, equal starts, equipment found on maps, all like halo 3. - Sprint, clamber, slide and possibly smart-scope on autos like in halo 5 (but no other spartan abilities or advanced movement). - Classic style scoping (not ADS) and classic De-scoping instead of halo 4 flinch mechanic. - No armor abilities or loadouts like reach/4. No perks or personal ordinance like 4.
So yeah I would say halo 5 and halo 3 mixed. Probably closer to a stripped back halo 5 than anything else.

I will say the gameplay in Halo Infinite looks similar to the gameplay from Halo 3, Halo 4 and Halo Reach.

Hit the nail on the head

Ranking Multiplayer in order of likeness. Ranking from H3 up to H5 since I have the most experience with these and not enough experience with CE / H2.

  • Halo 5 (+Equal starts, mobility options, weapon feel / responsiveness, Sidekick “feels” snappy like H5 Magnum) - Halo Reach (+Art style / grittier look, armor abilities, Infinite AR visually reminiscent of Reach AR; --H5 closer in overall game/gun feel) - Halo 3 (+Equal starts, equipment pickups, Infinite BR “feels” like H3 BR; --Reach closer in art style, --H5 closer in overall game/gun feel) - Halo 4 (+Armor abilities, +inherent sprint; -Unequal starts / Loadouts, -everything sounds too “sharp”, -different art style)Honestly Halo 5, Halo Reach, and Halo 3 are really close together in what Halo Infinite seems to be like so far. It seems that Infinite took the best parts of those 3 games and put them together (armor abilities and equipment are essentially merged into one singular feature). Halo 4 veered really far from the “Halo feel”, like even though it has armor abilities and sprint like Infinite, customizable loadouts and personal ordnance drops makes it way too different. Also, the sound design is really different with high-pitched or very sharp sounds like the BR, Carbine, Magnum and the art style is very shiny, spiky, overly-complex and opposite of gritty.

Halo 5 just launched the seasonal playlist which is a version with the H2 BR and no spartan abilities. Of all this will probably resemble Infinite gameplay the most as it has been used as a testing playlist earlier. Go try it out

Mainly Halo reach in my view but with some abilities from 4 and 5, and with equipment from halo 3.

It looks Halo 3 is actually getting a sequel! But with a sprinkling of Halo 5 mechanics.
