I was talking with my 20-year-old son last night and he was telling me how much he enjoyed going to the midnight release of Halo 3. He was 6 at the time and I let him skip school to play with me the next day. While in line at Game Crazy he would hear people using different curse words and would look at me shocked. We had a great time looking back on that night and all the hype for Halo 3 back in the day.
Halo 3 was my favorite. A lot of my friends and I got there several hours early, but we were still probably about 50th in line. Near midnight there were hundreds of people behind us. The line had gone from the store entrance to the road, and started to loop around the building. For context, this was located in a mall, so the parking lot was fairly large, and the line was about 5 to 7 people wide the whole way. The store did various contests, and I won a legendary pin that was surprisingly well constructed. The whole experience was just fun.

I love these stories!! So many people were so hyped for this series back in the day. I’m so glad people are getting hyped again!
Only one I took part of was Halo 3 ODST because at the time I worked nights and the store I preordered from was right around the corner and up the street from where I worked. It was kind of lackluster though there was one guy talking to everyone and that was about all the hyped up people.
Halo 3 ODST
Reach, it was the last time the gang got together for a Midnight Launch for some good old Halo.
