This has been a thing that I have been curios for a while now, because I love trying to prevent marine deaths on my heroic playthrough, this is my list starting from strongest to weakest, this is my opinion, put yours down below. Also this is weakest A.I, not bad A.I in general
I’ll say 3 they feel pretty useless unless en masse. And ce conversely they feel weak in numbers, like when you have to hold off waves on truth and reconciliation and the sword elites and eventually hunters come through, or when your pushing through the swamp against the flood. They drop like flies in those segments if you baby them.

They die quickly yes, but to me it feels like the CE marines actually attack the Covenant more then in other games, except when their on the warthog turrent, they suck on that.

They do attack better, but they react poorly. I’ve watched a zealot wipe my whole squad 1 by 1. And the flood infection forms swarm them real easily. Where as 3 they just feel pretty incompetent.
I would argue that Halo Reach had the worst Marines. I honestly can’t remember a scenario on any difficulty where the Marines were actually effective in combat and not just straight up cannon fodder.
