Halo 3 is probably the most similar, but every time I play it, it reminds me of why I liked Halo 2 better.

Thankfully, until the launch of the MCC, we have XBC and Halo 2 Vista.

It’s hard to say. I think nothing matches Halo 2. Halo 2 is my 2nd favorite Halo for its story and gameplay. The closest is maybe Halo 3: ODST until it has no armor abilities and weapons, but there hasn’t been a game that has come close to Halo 2.

This is exactly how I feel. Halo 3 was good, but Halo 2 was perfection. I played 3000 Halo 2 games, and only 181 Halo 3 games. Like OP, I might play some 3 to practice for 2.

If you’re preparing/training for H2 Anniversary, play Halo 3. We’re only 2 weeks away, but that’s the best way to practice that I’ve come across. If you’ve played Halo 4 much, it takes a bit to get used to de-scoping again.
