Which game has better graphics?

I have my own opinion but I’d like to know what you guys think to see if I’m wrong. And If I’m right, I have some questions for you guys
I personally think War Thunder (tank game) looks better at max graphics, and this comparison (war thunder is on medium settings, Infinite is on minimum)
I get 30 FPS MAX in Infinite and 50-60 FPS in War Thunder

The problem with this is that Halo infinite is more cartoony then it is realistic so when comparing these games you won’t really have an argument for either.

The tank game does look better tho. I wish Halo infinite adopted a realistic artstyle. The one we have now is horrible.

It’s difficult to see the difference in quality because of the difference in color and distance.
However, I’d say they’re similar.

I get 60-70 FPS in the tank game (War Thunder) and 30, at most, in Infinite

Is that better?

Lol, notice my failed attempt at covering my steam username XD

I get 50-60 FPS in Infinite, or at least the campaign.

Also, in the picture, it says “48 FPS”.

Sort of.
I think Infinite might look slightly better.

Why are you comparing those games anyway?

Is there a reason to cover that?

Not really

I thought War Thunder looked a little better, so I was wondering why Infinite had less FPS

I had the graphics set to high, lol.
I changed them to medium and I get 50-60 now
I thought I was getting 60-70 on medium but apparently not. Although, I do have spotify playing but I don’t think that would effect it much

I imagine this would relate to draw distances/verticality in the campaign. Do you feel like War Thunder has as far of a draw distance?

It’s hard to tell quality in the images you shared because I’m finding them a bit pixelated.

Yeah, it is just a steam screenshot I took ingame.
I just want to know why I get half the FPS in Infinite than in War Thunder, because I feel like (at the settings I have for the games) War Thunder looks better

Well, since I don’t have the campaign, I didn’t really think draw distance would factor into it that much. But War Thunder maps are fairly big and you can see across the map

I can’t paste anything from youtube but if you go to youtube and look up " Playing on RTX 3080 ASUS ROG Strix | SSAA 4x & Movie Settings Highlights (War Thunder Gameplay)"
Skip to 2 minutes and that can show you I think.

That is like asking Warhammer 40k to adopt a more realistic style instead of their massive-bulky-cartoony armor on the Space Marines.

The art style of Halo was changed once and people hated it.
Now it is back to normal and the newbies who appreciate over-designed compared to simplistic and rational design are complaining.

I think Halo’s art style looks fine as is

Let’s break it down.

Halo 2 and CE are dated. Looks amazing but I won’t comment on that.

Halo 3. Peak artstyle.

Halo reach. Second best artstyle(should’ve been what infinite is)

Halo 4. Horrible.

Halo 5. The set pieces in the campaign and SOME armours looked incredible. A lot of detail. Looks like a Halo game.

Halo infinite. Swung to far into the cartoony artstyle. Way to simple. Not enough lines. Not enough grit. The Spartans look like action figures. Halo 5 had some really ugly armours but they didn’t look like action figures.

For once I would like to see a more mature Halo. Gritty artstyle with blood. No bright colors. No simple designs. Would love to see that one day

These all look like cartoonish action figures to me.
They don’t even follow that much of a common art-style, whereas the armor design in Halo Infinite keeps it consistent within their Armor cores.

Didn’t Reach try to do the gritty thing?

Halo 5, Not just graphics, but 117% balanced and had SMOOTHER gameplay.

Halo Infinite feels like an upgrade from Halo 4, a downgrade of Halo 5 and a Great value brand version of Fortnite.

I agree with you, but that is still some bait for discourse.

  1. I didn’t like it but looking back at it now it looks far better than the samrui stuff. Why? Because all the parts still look like armour pieces made for a Spartan suit. The samrui stuff and the glowing mohawk stuff doesn’t look like part of the armour.

  2. I LOVE the Athlon armour. If anything it looked like a football player rather than cartoony. And football player gear looks like a Spartan suit so to me this armour fits like a glove.

  3. I like this armour. Wore it a few times. Looks like a Spartan suit. Helmet is a little funky but I like it.

  4. omg. this is one of the ugly armours. But again. Not cartoony in any way. It still looks like a Spartan. Just a really ugly one. For some reason this armour fits certain people’s personalitys and the armour ends up looking a bit better. Idk why. But it’s definitely ugly.

  5. armour is fine. Helmet is atrocious.

  6. man. this one upsets me a lot. The helmet looks like big brain. Had the helmet been a lot slimer and less big brain it would’ve been one of the coolest armours in all of Halo. Its a very sleek and cool looking armour that’s ruined by the doofy helmet.

  7. i imagine someone named Bob wearing this armour set. While it’s not horrible. It’s not interesting to look at. I would say it’s more uninteresting than ugly

  8. i guess the color way is cartoony. I don’t like the color way but it’s a decent looking armour. I don’t like the wide shoulder pads and the weirdly shaped visor tho.

  9. this armour was popular with a lot of people. I don’t like it but it looks fine to me. I guess the helmet is funny looking but I’ve heard people say it’s cool looking.

  10. This armour does look cartoony only because of how simple it is. In a way I like it but it’s something I wouldn’t wear. The helmet doesn’t fit the armour.

  11. another drop in the bucket armour. I don’t like it. I guess it does look cartoony but if you slap a different color on there other than green I bet it would look different. It’s ugly all around tho.

  12. armour is fine. Helmet is just straight up bonkers. Another case of another armour ruined by the helmet which in turn makes it ugly to me more than cartoony imo.

  13. i hate this armour forever and always. Yes this is the one armour that is straight up cartoony and ugly.

  14. armour is fine. Helmet is wonky but not terrible. I guess is cartoony but a helmet redesign would fix that.

  15. armour fine. Helmet ugly.

  16. i like this one. I would wear it. I have my specific armours I’ll always wear tho so some armours I like I won’t wear in favor of others but this one is good.

  17. armour fine. Helmet ugly.

  18. na. lockes armour is among the best. The mouth piece is a little too big but overall this armour is the image of Halo 5 imo.

19.Armour is cool. Helmet is horrible. Cartoony for sure.

20.i like this one. Don’t love it but i think it’s fine.

21.looks pretty Halo to me. This is one of those hours you have to have an aquried taste for. Definitely not ugly or cartoony. It’s actually pretty cool but it’s not for everyone.

  1. The stubby horn on the helmet ruins it otherwise it’s fine. I don’t like it but the armour isn’t terrible. The whole thing does look cartoony tho.

  2. another iconic ugly helmet. I remember all the YouTube thumbnails raking on the helmet. Yeah. One of the worst armour sets in halo. Hopefully never to be seen again.

24.armour is weird. So is the helmet. If anything it just looks like some weird alien rather than a Spartan. So yeah. Cartoony

  1. Visor ruined it other wise it looks fine.

  2. Ugly looking set. Cartoony.

27.ugly. like really ugly.

  1. I like this one. Sure the helmet doesn’t make to.much sense but I think it looks cool.

29.i don’t see this as cartoony or ugly. It’s just some odst guy. It just looks basic more than anything.

30.yes this is cartoony and ugly.

31.i like this one. I guess the helmet is weird but it’s not bad.

32.ugly and cartoony for sure.

33.where is this from? I think this armour looks super sick. The boots are a bit too big but this one is cool.

34.Armour fine. Helmet could use some work. It’s just ugly.

  1. Another iconic ugly armour set. Cartoony

36.Sleek armour set. I see nothing wrong with this one.

37.Armour fine. Visor ruined it but overall a really detailed armour set. With some work this could be one of the best.

38.Armour fine. Helmet way too big making it look cartoony.

39.Armour fine. Helmet ugly. Cartoony because bowl shaped head.

40.ugly everything.

41.LMAOOO. I think this one takes the cake. I can’t believe I forgot this exsisted.

42.I didn’t like the Shinobi but it looks better than the samuri stuff we got now. Why? Because the Shinobi armour is in the same mold as all the other armour sets. It’s not like it changes the whole look of the mold.

43.Ugly not cartoony tho.

  1. It’s just ugly. Nothing else

45.Ive seen many use this armour. I don’t like it but it’s not cartoony. Just something different imo.

46.Timmy is more ugly than cartoony. Olive is the cartoony one.

47.Armour fine. Helmet ugly. Cartoony because it’s another big brain helmet.

  1. Just ugly.

  2. Armour fine. Helmet ugly.

50.Ugly and cartoony.

  1. Looks menacing but also ugly. Not cartoony tho.

  2. I actually really like this armour set but I HATE the thing sticking out the helmet. It ruins the whole thing.

53.Just ugly.

54.Looks like a standard Halo armour.

55.I like the helmet. Armour is ugly. I guess this one cartoony but not bad.

I think In Halo 5 the helmets play a huge role in how the entire armour set looks. Most of the time good armour Is ruined by an ugly helmet.

Also I see you picked a lot of armour that have color ways on them. Sure I’m not a fan of most of the color ways but I don’t think they are cartoony. Some color ways are nice tho. Sucks that the good color ways are paired with ugly armour sets. And what I mean by color way. I mean the color pattern that the armour comes with. Not the color you choose for it to be.

Overall the armours I did like show what I mean about detailed armour. The ugly ones I pointed out over did it and thus it’s a lot of “visual noise”.

I also appreciate you debating the proper way using actual specifics instead of talking broadly. It may take a lot of time but information is a lot easier to deal with when every detail is looked over. It’s a lot of the reason why a lot of us are split on opinion. We all probably like most of the same stuff and we don’t even know it because we talk super broadly about the things we do like

Yes reach tried to do the grit thing which is why I said that’s what infinite should’ve been.

Anything feels like an upgrade from Halo 4. Campaign was amazing but everything else from designs to sounds was just bad

The point is that Halo’s armor is supposed to look like it is machined and designed to have the components nessessary for an energy-shield and servos and such.

Most of the armors in Halo 4 and Halo 5 are cartoonish, plastic, toy-like, and unrealistic in design.

As you said, a lot of ugly helmets, but plenty of sets are just freakish as well.

Most of the helmets don’t even have any realism.
Put on Locke’s Hunter helmet and you will find that the visor covers your nose and cheekbones, not at eye level.
The Fenrir helmet has a visor even though it isn’t anywere covering your eyes, just a huge smile.
Vector and Breacher are WAAYYYY too much visor because it extends over top of the head where a helmet should provide ARMOR.
On top of that, Breacher helmet also has a bit of visor at the back of the head.

Halo has always been about fictional design, because it is a Science-fiction story and setting.
But their designs still had an air of realism and humanity to them.

Human/UNSC design is made up of something you can reasonably see a futuristic military using.
Covenant design is curvy, sleek, rounded, and organic in design.
Banished is more angular recreations of Covenant supplies as Jiralhanae engineering super-ceded the Prophet’s final say.
Forerunner design was angular, no curves, and a shiny polish.

Halo 4 and Halo 5 decided to apply ALL of those design characteristics into the UNSC. Which was ludicrous as each faction is supposed to have their design theme to help distinguish and differentiate them from one another.

As a result, we got 95% of the armory looking ugly. The graphics of Halo CE thru 3 are less than Halo 4, but the art piece is still much better since it actually all looks attractive.

I can reallistically see anyone in Halo 3 or Reach wearing any of the helmets or other such armor pieces in the armory.
I have never seen a single player wear Seeker without them saying “I just wanted to look stupid today”.
The main reason Halo 5 said “yes” to just about every armor design they drafted up is because they wanted to fill up the armory and have a rarity system with thier REQ-Pack system. All so they could say “Our game offers over a thousand combinations for you to customize your Spartan!” all for it to really end up as
“There are thousands of options, but really everyone will pick the same twenty bodies and the same forty helmets.”

And with Halo Infinite, I literally see that everyone is wearing EVERYTHING. Every helmet has been seen in all my matches, every shoulder armor piece, every chest, even alternate gloves. That is because they actually fit in and look attractive rather than “This armor piece exists in Halo, but we ripped it from a scrapped Power Rangers design”.
