Jeff Steitzer is the announcer in all the games as far as I know, but recently his voice seems to be more “electronic” or digitized so to speak. I know that it’s intentional decision and looks like the direction 343 wants to take, but by god I was playing Halo 3 at a friend’s the other day and without a doubt that had the best voice!

I like halo 5’s better than previous iterations. I always hated how he said “double kill.”
Don’t really notice a difference between CE-reach but I prefer that over the digitalized one in h5.

H3 had the best announcements in my opinion.
Definitely Halo CE-Reach. I cannot at all conceive how 343i thought people would like that iconic announcer rerecording his lines. Were they not good enough before? They lasted for ten years without needing change, and there were never any complaints. It was change for the sake of change, and that infuriates me. 343i made some great changes, but a lot of the changes that people don’t like aren’t necessarily bad (I really like the new Elite design, especially their heads) but they were unnecessary. 343i saw a formula that worked perfectly and changed it all up for no reason other than “we want this to be our Halo game”. Well, make it memorable for a good reason, like solid gameplay and story, not for creating a jarring and unnecessary change to every little thing.
Reach Jeff is by far the best version of his voice I’d say. It’s the perfect balance between the new games light and CE’s dark.
H3/Reach definitely had a more sinister feel to it, sort of a Quake or Unreal Tournament vibe. I do have to say that H5’s announcer is a huge improvement from H4, almost like somebody started giving the announcer coffee instead of red bull.
H3 for sure
Gonna go with Reach, but I’m biased since Reach is the multiplayer I spent the most time in.
Halo 4’s commentary was just bad though. Way too hyper.
Halo 3 and Reach were best
Halo 5 is the best imo right followed by Reach.
in Halo 3 he sound bored, like “let me get out of here pls”.
