Which Forge Map are you going to first?

And what do you plan to build?

  • Standard map for all gametypes
  • Map fit for one gametype in particular
  • Mini game map
  • Race map
  • etc

I have two things I plan to do first: A recreation of my Criss Cross Crass map that I made in Halo Reach (inspired by this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SodVUwPCRwg). With the proper placement of man canons set at the proper angles and a few land mines for good measure it’s an absolute blast (literally) of a race map.

I also hope to recreate a couple of my other maps from Halo Reach, one that will look awesome in the caves above the water in the underground-ish map and another on Impact built for 4v4 game types.

Honestly, I’m really hoping that 343’s custom game options and the mechanics of building maps and gametypes allows for all the awesome and fun experiences we had in Halo 3.

I know that I’m probably going to forge the hell out of Impact and recreate some of my old maps from Halo 3 and Reach.

-crosses fingers that custom games are relevant again-

I thought customs in Reach were actually pretty darn fun, there were a few options/settings I would have liked but overall I couldn’t complain.

First thing I’m doing is making a zero g environment to see if the vehicles float after screwing around with that I will begin the process of remaking an old map of mine called adrenaline. This map was made for 4v4 MLG style play that a lot if my friends loved playing. I need to make it a bit bigger seeing that sprint is universal now . I will probably use the big forerunner structure in ravine as a starting point

I’ve been thinking about creating two bases on impact with a low gravity sequence of walk ways and such out in space between the bases.

A Standard map fit for only Slayer on Impact.

Impact for me. I’ll build something that covers a good portion of the map.

Definitely Impact, because I want to create a Dead Space-type of zombie map.

Hopefully I can pull it off haha

I’m going with Impact first. I look forward to recreating my own version of Uncaged made for Halo 4.

I can’t wait!

I’m going to rebalance it for CTF games and make the movement much less one sided than the last one.

I usually like to build mazes and obstacle courses, so whichever map fits that description best. Maybe the space one or Erosion cuz of the grifball room.

Plan on rebuilding this on Impact, as well as this (don’t have a video for this one).

Wow…those are impressive O.O

Thanks. I’m pretty -Yoink!- about detail; I used blueprints in both cases, and with the Star Destroyer, pics of the actual models as well. There are still a few details that are off, but I am quite pleased with both of them. I was hoping I would be able to build them bigger & more detailed in Halo 4, but since the budget & objects restrictions seem to be unchanged from Reach, I’ll have to settle for simple remakes. However, the fact that Impact will allow me to build them in space (as opposed to using ugly purple fx on Forgeworld, an effect so hideous I preferred to leave them in the default daylight) pretty much cancels out my disappointment in not being able to build them bigger.

IMPACT. FRIGATE. THAT IS ALL.

Yea I imagine some sweet creations will end up on Impact.

Thinking of remaking my semi-popular map Maelstrom as Travertine, a medium size map on the bubbling green waters of Erosion.

I will start wih the indoor-area on Erosion and build a good 2v2 map. That space seams like a good place to build small maps.

Erosion can look a little “meh” at first glance but I think there will be some awesome creations on that map.
