Which Features Do You Like?

The majority of the posts I see here highlight what people dislike, I’d like to highlight what we do like; below I will list what I personally like, and why I like it.

I will also list what other people like as well.

  • Spartan Chatter - This takes out a lot of the guessing on whether the sniper/power weapons are still on the map, especially after an enemy is killed with one, while I’m looking for the weapon and someone else grabs it; saves me time and annoyance of looking for something that’s not there anymore.- Power Weapon Timers - This makes the game a little easier for new players. It shouldn’t be present in the higher competitive games but it’s a great feature for the casual playlists.- Sprint - Yeah, this is a highly contested feature, and it’s not going away considering the size of the maps. It’s decently balanced, you can’t sprint while being shot so it’s not a assured ‘get out of death free card’ anymore.- Removed Map Voting - The veto system was good, the voting on 3 maps was bad IMO, the new system speeds things up a bit and seems fairly fair if you stay in the same lobby.- Clamber - The way it’s implemented, it helps with getting around. We pretty much lost all our skilled jumps and replaced them with Clamber, which kind of sucks, but at least we don’t have jetpack anymore.- Smart-Scope - This makes the AR and SMG more of a viable weapon, though there may need some weapon tweaking, it doesn’t really hurt gameplay. That’s all I can think of now, please tell me what you like and I will list them below, and feel free to comment on what I like and I can further talk on why I like it.

I like:
Spartan chatter: Eliminates the need for a team with mics to be competitive (still alot better when your team has mics though), which is good because not too many people use mics now a days
Thrusting: Much better than the halo 4 version
Clamber: I’ve honestly wanted this since halo:2 it only makes sense that your spartan should be able to pull themselves up
Sprinting nerfs: Self explanatory

What do you mean by this? Has there anything been anounced yet on map moving? From my experience the maps get just randomly chosen in the beta. (out of 2 atm though)

Anyways,
At first I thought ground pound was really unneeded. Though I came to realise, that especially due to H5G’s map design, it’s a funny addition which I try to implement in my playstyle now more often, especially when I’m on the higher ground.

Other than that probably clamber and thruster

I like Clamber and Spartan chatter. That’s about it.

In Halo 2/3 we had the Veto system, we would be given one map and a single game type, if we didn’t like it we could veto for a different map/gametype.

Reach/H4 offered a voting system between 3 maps, which was terribly biased for ties, the map that had a tie would always be to the left, and this also boiled down to only playing on a handful of maps in the end anyway.

Now this might just be for the beta only, but the game selecting the map for us is nice, keeps it simple and the selection is fair; while staying in the same lobby, the game had always selected the other map the next round. But if I backed out and searched again I’d have a 50-50 chance of playing the same map again. It might just be coincidence but it seemed to work how I described it above while staying in the same lobby.

Umm

Hmm. It’s hard to think of things THEY have done that are good. Most of the good stuff is the stuff they haven’t yet changed.

I like how they’ve made most of the weapons actually useful(so far)

I like the grenade physics

The idea of thrust isn’t bad. Im not a huge fan of it’s implementation.

The fact that they actually have a skill based ranking system is nice. Though again, the implementation isn’t great. It’s better than anything we got in Reach or H4 though.

I like how bright the sword is. It’s an interesting balancing choice.
