Which Do you Prefer?Clones Or Custom Spartans

This Thread Is To the discussion of the Clones that will be in Halo4’s Co-op Campaign.

Which do you prefer?

Master Chief Clones?

Or You’re Own spartan? (like in Reach)? (I’d like this)

OR Random characters? (like in Halo3)?

I can See why they want Clones, If there is clones. Not sure yet even tho some people
Say its confirmed, But it would be cool to play as you’re own character aswell. If you want to. There should be a setting of some sort. Just my Thought.

What do you think?

Your own spartan. It makes more sense to me at least.

Either way is fine.

I would prefer random characters because it gives them a chance to explain them canonically. Though that couldn’t really be done for Halo 4.

I’m hoping for one of the two non-clone examples for Halo 5.

i dont care.

Random marines, random Spartans, random characters, custom Spartans, etc.

Anything but clones, it makes you feel like you’re not even playing as the Master Chief, it also makes it feel very unrealistic and hard to believe.

my own spartan. Loved that idea.

I still want to hear the Modus Pensandi behind this choice really

While I have absolutely nothing against playing as Master Chief clones like in Halo 1 and 2 (remember that co-op isn’t strictly canon anyway), I would prefer playing as your own multiplayer Spartan. Halo Reach was extremely interesting and unique in this aspect, playing as your own Spartan made the experience just that much better.

Of course, Halo 3 was cool too having a canonical explanation for co-op, but it wasn’t the same as playing as your own guy.

I seriously don’t want to see copies of Chief running around in Multiplayer.

My S IV.

> I seriously don’t want to see copies of Chief running around in Multiplayer.

But you won’t, since Chief’s armour isn’t available in multiplayer. And that’s not even the point of this thread either.

Frank said that the only reason that there were Chief clones this go around was because the Forerunner trilogy is to be more in depth with Chief and Cortana as Characters. That’s why we couldn’t have our custom Spartan IVs in the Campaign.

I can honestly see why they chose this, if we had our custom Spartan IVs in it, we wouldn’t be able to explore Chief in the way that we do without them. I’m not saying I wouldn’t like to have that, because honestly it was the most interesting thing that came out of a Halo Campaign, but there are obvious reasons why there can’t be :frowning: .

I like making movie’s in campaign, but now i can’t have my own character, if the clones are in.

I think they should make a setting so if you want to play with you’re own spartan via, Co-op

you can.

But if you want to play it with the story line thing- You can play with the Clones…

Good idea?

It really doesn’t matter to me. I’m going to be doing the campaign solo first, and then from there is when I’ll do Coop with others. Being a MC clone makes no difference to me.

As long as I get to shoot covvie/promethean scum in the face I’m happy. Don’t care what I look like

Lol, it would be more lore friendly to have custom spartans because they already killed master chiefs clones.

I’m not understanding any of these things you guys are claiming Frank said.

The story is about Chief, duh. How does playing as a different character during gameplay change that? It doesn’t. Look at Halo 3. Arbiter and his posse saw Cortana visions. Advanced the story felt like it was about Chie. Didnt matter.

Arbiters posse being absent in cut scenes. It’s co-op, it doesn’t friggin matter.

None of Franks points make any sense. If he just said “It’s easier.” It would be a better point than what he’s saying.

The point is that Master Chief and Cortana are ALONE on the Forward Unto Dawn. It would make A LOT more sense if the cutscenes had 1 master chief and the gameplay had clones than to have some random Spartan IVs running around with him until they encounter the infinity which is where all of the Spartan IVs canonically are supposed to be.
