Which dead characters from any other Halo game, novel, series, comic etc. do you think has the potential to return?
I mean if they didn’t really die, or miraculously brought back to life?
For example, I think Cortana is pretty likely to make a comeback in some way.

Cortana - highly likely, in fact I’ll be pissed if she doesn’t.
Spirit of Fire crew - cliffhanger ending leaves their fate unknown but plausibly alive.
Gray team - very plausible that they are still alive, but perhaps stranded outside UNSC space.

Guys what about Sargent Johnson?, i bet he still alive, remember Halo CE final mission when u beat it on legendary u see a Sargent Johnson on Ring as it explodes and some how he came back in Halo 2

How about no dead characters coming back? I believe the story can do just fine leaving dead things, well, dead.
I would say N6 and/or Johnson. Imagine in Halo 7 there is an epic battle raging on for earth, humanity. Chief is failing, enemies are surrounding him and N6 and Johnson drop in ODST drop pods and completely destroy all the covenant and Prometheans where Johnson says ,“No time to explain chief, blow these mother f*”
