Which control setting should I use?

So I have used the bumper jumper control scheme since Halo 3 and never really bothered changing the setting since it’s always worked out great for me. But now in Halo 4 it seems as the MLGs prefer using the jetpack alot more but still seem to be able to use their aim alright, which must lead to the conclusion that they are using the normal controls right?

Although without the bumper jumper they can’t jump around and aim at the same time. Are there any specific control-scheme that’s better than the other one? Should I stick to the bumper jumper or should I learn the normal controls and get used to using the jetpack at the cost of not being able to jump and aim?

Would be nice if some experienced MLG player could tell me which control-scheme he/her is using and why he/she prefers that one in comparison to the other one.

Stick to bumper. I use recon tried to use something else so I tried playing campaign with a different control scheme and it wasn’t pretty. (-Yoink!-ing grunts)

pfft, a modded controller could be part of the solution…?

anyway, bumper jumper with a scuf controller is the way to go ive heard. But i wouldnt know anything about it as i dont play bumper jumper.

I am MLG and I suggest using my pro setup:

I use A, B, X and Y for Nade, Use Armour Ability, Reload and Fire, respectively.

Then I use the bumpers and triggers to move, and the D-pad is how I aim. My Right stick changes my nades.

I’ve got to say, my setup works very well for me and you should try it.

depends how you hold the controller,

if you curl your pointer ontop of the axby, i suggest recon

if you hold it with your pointer on the trigger or bumper i would use bumper jumper

Guess I will stick to bumper jumper then as I am only using my thumb for X, Y, A and B.

Though I am still a bit curious about which control scheme the MLG pros use. They seem to do fine both in jumping and aiming and jetpacking and aiming (from what I have seen in the videos), can’t see how that comes together unlesss they are using the “crab grip” (is it called that? When you use the pointer finger for X,Y,A and B.

Is the grip something commonly used by the MLGs? Not really planing on adapting to it, I am just wondering out of curiosity.
