I’ve been a fan of Halo for 6 years now, and I haven’t yet read any of the books. I love the fiction of the Halo universe, and fiction in general. So, I’ve come here to ask you guys: which Halo book should I get? Vote in the poll or respond with a post. Thanks 
Try borrowing all of them from a local library or something. All of them are so great!
Depends on what you want to know. Fall of Reach is Always good to begin with.
But if you what to prepare for Halo 4 Glasslands ( The Thursday war - Cryptum/Primordium are the books you need to read.
If you have played Halo Ce then skip The Flood Unless You have time same for Contact harvest and Evolutions
First strike and Ghosts Of Onyx help between Fall of Reach and Glasslands
But if you have the time Read all of them In order of release Date.
It really depends on what you want to know more about first.
I will recommend Cryptum, Primordium, and Glasslands. All to help you prepare for Halo 4. You can read the others whenever since they deal more with the Human-Covi war.
I would say all Cryptum/Primordium.
They share the newest and IMO most interesting story. Also they have connections to Halo 4.
Either Fall of Reach since it’s a good one to start out with, or Cryptum since it relates to Halo 4. Personally, I recommend reading all of them at some point. They’re all great book
I’m also reading through all of them, and I’d recommend starting with Fall of Reach. It really develops Master Chief not only as, you know, the hero of the universe, but as a character with emotions and feelings.

I think you should get all of them but i loved Ghost of onyx for story, Cryptum and Primordium for reliable info to get you up to date for Halo 4. The other are also very good reads if you want to follow up MC and Cortana. Fall of reach, The flood and First Strike.

I love Ghost of Onyx too. I would start with Fall of Reach.
What I did was I looked up this Halo Fiction timeline thing on Google and it was basically like a brief recap of every book from Contact Harvest to Halo 3 in chronological canon order so I am briefed on the human covi war and all I have to read is Cryptum, Primordium, and Glasslands in prep for Halo 4 so look up a timeline if you want to be briefed on the events of Contact Harvest all the way to Halo 3 or just read all the books if you want to get dialogue but I recommend the timeline because it sure did help me.
