i would advice to armors like viligiant or introuder, but i got recruited as a spartan 3 ( halo fan)
so i go with the reach style.
But what is your preference in combat? close, far, vehicle/piloting?

That’s a very good question.
I guess I would go with any style, as a form of multi/adaptable form of combat, like what the Chief did. Any style that it would take to survive.
I’m kinda looking for a militaristic style of armor. Some that are kind of like reach, or anything that’s close to it.

. The suit is a general-purpose powered assault armor that takes full advantage of line-replaceable modules and reprogrammable sensor arrays for maximum flexibility, a rarity in an age of highly-specialized Mjolnir variants

so thats basicly a suite for all combat situations. ( i dont like the helmet) marauder is rare armor so easier to get then the noble armors which start at ultra rare.
for the helmet is a question of choice. I like the enforcer, it is the gen 2 varinat of halo reach operator helmet.
it a vid visor, but not too wide for a higher head shot risk.(lore technicly)

then would to be clearified what you like, bulky, more light agile ones?
sadly halo 5 has a big lack in suporting asymetric armours

also why not brose halo pedia and read about the armours? the lore and the pourpose?

If your talking about helmets, I have a short list.
This list was made after I read your comment about multi-adaptability, and then looked through all the helmet descriptions, then considering which would actually look nice with your visor and colour:

Air assault
Breaker
Maybe goblin, if you don’t mind looking like a smiling cyclops… which I don’t
Protector
Atlas
Dynast
Marauder,

I’m not sure what the rarities were for them, due to looking through them and their variants in no specific order.
