If 6 multiplayer game types return from previous halos which 6 would you like to see return in halo infinite. As a bonus if there was to be a new game mode suggest one.
For me:
Slayer … obviously
Capture the flag
King of the hill
Infection
Bomb- especially for grifball
All those actually seem necessary to me.
This next one I was conflicted about but I’ll go with oddball.
as for new game mode , I want a rehash of Warzone
, invasion, stronghold, and firefight. I think they can somehow manage to make the idea of players vs players vs npc… without the req’s… with vehicles the community has been requesting for so long… pelican … scarab… etc.
As a side thought I imagine 343 could probably provide the tools for us making our own game modes… with options like
“Phase 1 options”
“phase 1 team 1 lives”
“phase 1 team 1 change teams after run out of lives?”
“Phase 1 team 1 scoring” (flag capture/bomb/territory/kill)
etc.
i can imagine if those options are lenders to the community we can practically make our own game modes and revive all previous one so as well.
If I could only have 6 I would choose:
Slayer
CTF
Strongholds
FFA
SWAT
BTB
Slayer
CTF
Oddball
Big Team Battle
Multi-Team
and (if this really counts) Firefight!

I also think that Halo 5’s Breakout mode should be there, but if I only had to pick 6, these would be it.

My choices weren’t even influenced by yours. I literally picked the same modes as you (Assault can be the same as Bomb right?)
Slayer and infection for sure. Then probably ctf, ffa, btb, and breakout.
I really hope more than 6 game modes return, as that was one of the main problems with H5, but if I can only choose 6 I’d go with the following:
-Slayer
-Big Team Battle
-Super Fiesta
-Swat
-Invasion
-Dominion

Imagine if Infinite launched with all those game modes, that would be amazing.
Infinite’s going to be as fast as dead as Guardians, if they only bring 6 Modes back tbh, but since that’s not the Point:
- Slayer
- CtF
- KotH
- Oddball
- Assault
- Invasion-Warzone Hybrid (to replace Warzone, so waaaay bigger; Elites vs. Spartans; no Reqs; Some (actually different, not misplaced Human Building Junk!) Bases to capture which provide diverse Reqs for you (which aren’t Reskins with different abilities, these were fairly lame developed); unique Things happening on them… Like for Instance One could have different Switches which trigger Waterfalls (like Shrine in H2A) or activate Lightbridges; one Map could start idyllic with different Covies/Banished roaming the Map while later on Flood would infect them and expand on the Map making everything a bit floodish and so on… And these Things should be unique to One Map at a Time, not repeating the Same Trick on every map…
I don’t list Swat; Snipers or BtB etc.; These are Playlists and mostly Slayer Variants… It’s a given that they have to be there Day 1, just like One Sided or Multi Objective Type Gamemodes… If 343i can’t pull of such a simple thing as that, Infinite is going to be a traumata, just like 5.
So, and now what should be there:
I’d like to see Halo: Reach’ Multiplayer Aspect or the One from the Collection (since everything is there)… Like almost every Mode… You don’t have to have everything set up in a Playlist D1 (instead switch something out on a monthly [maybe even half a month] basis) and Playlists would be a bit Tricky, but I think this could be the way to Go:
Ranked:
- Slayer
- CtF
- Swat
- Snipers
- Infection
- Big Team Battle
- Team Objective (throw there in like everything)
- Action Sack (Hog Potato! Woop woop)
- Invasion+ (my mentioned Hybrid)
Social:
Just like MCC’s, Slots to choose what you want to play in what Teamsize, with a rotating Golden Slot at the End; emphasis to play the rotating One like Double ExP or Nameplates, if they make a return.
That would be Perfect and slowly I’m getting to the point where it is just Wishful thinking and way Off-topic, so I’ll stop here… 

Here’s my list with a big NUMBER 1 that I think is the most fun gametype I’ve played in Halo multiplayer ever and I miss dearly.
- ROCKET RACE - so much fun and such a nice variety to the usual shoot em up gameply.
- Team Slayer (2v2 and 4v4)
- CTF
- Oddball
- Infection
- Action Sack
As a bonus, I would love to see the return of a great Halo 2 custom gametype we used to play way back when called Tower of Power. We would play on Ascension and effectively both teams would fight over the main large sniper tower where there was a turret, and nobody had shields or we all had low shields. So it was a constant battle to control the tower and the turret, it was always loads of fun.
Don’t forget Firefight !
Also, could we have a “Zombie mode / story” but with ever increasing flood as the zombies
-Slayer (BTB, Swat, Lone wolf/Free for all, Fiesta, ect.)

-KotH (Crazy king, Team king)
-Infection
-Assault (Griffball, team bomb gametypes, ect.
Capture the flag (One flag, Multi flag gametypes)
But please for the love of god, Include Juggernaut, VIP, Headhunter and even Race.
So just about every gametype ever. Thanks. I wouldn’t mind if the last few came in with updates as long as the maps are of good quality, memorable and plentiful.
