Whice halo reach innovations should carry over?

So it seems like the consensus is that bloom and AAs, as they currently exist, are out.

I have no problem with bloom being gone, but I’m not as feverish as some of you guys. But the solution, I think, is not to move backwards. The static reticle of Halo 3 makes the game look and feel dated and robotic. The game needs a visual representation of the effect of firing a weapon, it just adds to the immersive feel to a game.

I think I’m in the minority when I say I enjoyed the AAs. I feel like they added strategy in an attack, and provided an “out” when someone has the drop on you. Personally, I was not a fan of Halo 3’s equipment, but I think that was more due to their awkward placement on the “x” button. In Halo 4, I would like to see a mixture of AAs and equipment, I think. Have AAs that make sense, like Sprint, Evade, Jetpack, and Active Camo and even them out with one/off equipment, retaining the Power drain, regenerator and the bubble shield. Also, these would act like power weapons on the map and not as loadouts.

The ranking system is also something that should be tweeked. I enjoy the cR and rewards rank system, but a return to a numbered rank BASED ON WINS AND LOSSES would be extremely welcome. The thing(for me) that always seperated Halo from lesser quality titles like CoD and such is that people actually cared about winning, over their own personal stats…for the most part.

Also, Invasion. Keep Invasion. It’s loads of fun that creates an interesting blend of objective and slayer in which obtaining the objective actually prolongs the game. Which is cool.

Assassinations are the ONLY thing that should come back(well only thing for gameplay). I’m fine with invasion coming back with some upgrades, I almost never played Reaches Invasion, gets boring fast.

Definitely agree with the assassinations. Should be retained and expanded.

Space combat should come back and be expanded on, that was fun. The credit system should be refined and used for unlocking armor. The online ranking system should be different.

Basic movement AAs like Sprint should be available off spawn; the Jetpack, etc, should be pick-ups; Armour Lock can -Yoink-; assassinations should be included and increased, though with an option to turn them off, as I know some people find it annoying when they accidently trigger the animation and so get killed.

How about making it so an assassination is harder to obtain? Let’s say, when you just hit an opposing playing in the back, it’s just a normal, first-person beat down, but if you hit them while crouching, sprinting, or from above, you get the animation. This way, the players feels like he or she earns the assassinations, and the animations used are the more interesting and entertaining ones.

If assassinations return, I want them to actually look like an assassination, not an overly flashy finishing move like some of the Reach ones were.

The Revenant is by far my favourite vehicle, I hope it gets retained. My fingers are also crossed for the Brute Chopper to make a re-appearance. I don’t mind if the designs stay the same or if they’re ‘kept’ like the Brute Shot was ‘kept’ for Reach, the aesthetic doesn’t matter so much as the gameplay.
