Just wondering why and if it is possible to bring back that glorious red “X” over your teammates body after they die. It’s significant for making call-outs as to where weapons were dropped, where your location was after you died, and letting your teammates know the general vicinity of enemies. I cannot say how many times I’ve told my teammates snipe on my “X”, opposite team by my “X”, etc. because it’s become such a big part of halo and knowing your teammates location.
I know there are plenty of other problems with the game but this is one where im confused as to why it was removed.
Sure, you get x on radar, but it’s not as efficient and not to mention game types without a radar will leave you screwed over.
Not sure why they felt the need to take them out.
> Totally agree.

yeah you can’t even see the X when your teammate died farther than your radar can pick up
It just doesnt help as much in this game, considering that everyone has a fast way to escape the scene of the crime. But it did make the game more exciting when you see a death symbol, made a destination for you to go to.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot. The X strongly promoted movement and faster gameplay, which is something H4 strongly, strongly lacks. I feel like its the slowest Halo I’ve ever played in my life.

It doesn’t need it as much? Lets say you’re playing BTB. You need to know where the majority of their team is to properly make decisions.
If you see 3 of your team mates die in one general area, you will have a better idea of map awareness.
It helps a ton especially playing solo queue matchmaking, when you can’t rely on your team mates making call outs.
someone asked angel this on twitter…she said they were considering bringing it back but it’s not official, which pisses me off…wtf is there to think about?

my thoughts exactly when making this thread, if your teammates do not have mics the only other way of knowing where they die at is by the X, and for the first time in a decade 343i took it away for NO REASON AT ALL
there are several things that have always been constant in the Halo realm that I feel like got changed for LITERALLY NO REASON… except i suppose for 343 to try and separate themselves from bungie. The red x, LS being crouch, zooming out when hit, and several other things all are hallmarks that really dont need renovation at all.
I still say, “one shot my X” at least once every game…
