Where's the radar in Last Spartan Standing?

Nice idea, a “flush out the campers” feature. Though I think every ten seconds is a bit much . How long would you suggest this radar ping lasts?

Generally I think this is supposed to be accomplished by having different game types. Don’t like having no radar, for instance? Play regular FFA instead. Like playing as a team, play quickplay instead of FFA.

The problem is more that the challenge system forces players into these modes that they really don’t want to be. I like having a motion radar. I don’t think LSS should have one, or that it would help the camping problem at all. But more than that, I hate FFA and don’t want to play it at all, but am forced to because of challenges. I would love to go play a different game mode with a radar, but then I can’t progress.

Theres other games that have done this, some have it on a mini map, some have you click a button and it allows you to control when it pings and it is on a cooldown. 10 seconds was just a throwaway number.

I suppose that could work, but I also don’t think its fair to overly punish people who camp just because I have a high aggressive play style.

Camping is the opposite of the play style that the game mode was designed for, you get rewarded for kills and rewarded for seeking out power ups. That should further be the emphasis of the game mode and 343 should actively seek out ways to remove or make camping/stagnant style play less viable.

I also think the mode would benefit more from radar. The lack of it hasnt stopped anyone from camping so far. The gametype just feels a little sweatier than it has to be.

We already went over the radar helps camper though, you don’t see people if they are still and if they are crouching they will get the jump on players way to easily.

This entire post screams, “I’m bad at the game”

You have 3D Audio. I’m sorry you sit 30 feet away from your TV with a controller but that’s not an issue with the gamemode. That’s a YOU problem. The entire point of the mode is to survive and outlast every opponent by any means necessary. At the end of the day people don’t like to admit that camping IS a legitimate tactic and how I’ve won multiple times employing it intelligently. If you can’t check your corners you didn’t deserve to win, simple as.

Half the time I consider Infinite to be Baby’s First Halo because of the BRIGHT RED OUTLINES making most stealth play incredibly difficult, if you STILL get snuck up on then you may wanna stick to campaign.

Only problem with that (other than people complaining that their hardware doesn’t help them hear), is that you may not want to be sound-dependent. For instance, you may want to listen to music while playing Halo, or you may want to lower the game’s sounds so that you can hear better your friends in Discord. Or you may not want to have a headset on while playing or have the sound too loud (as to not disturb anyone else in the house, to better hear for your smartphone’s notifications etc.).

Absolutely, and that’s a fair argument. I do this a lot with Halo and other games, and the radar does indeed make it playable.

For the sake of the argument though, I don’t want to imply that I think LSS shouldn’t have radar or can’t.

It could absolutely have radar and I wouldn’t be perturbed by it. It just doesn’t, and I found it logical enough to be a defensible decision.
