Where's the Logic? Where's the Fun?

*Playlist dilution is huge now because there are so many playlists:

-CTF isn’t apart of Team Objective? And why the heck not? It’s objective…
-Extraction and Dominion have their own playlists too and that doesn’t make sense. Maybe Extraction is an exception because it’s semi-new still and blah blah blah.
-FFA Regicide? That can be cycled out by now surely, Majestic has it in it’s playlist for one, and on another note how many times does it actually get picked?
-Team Snipers could be cycled out and an off and on thing with Team SWAT, no need to continuously have them both their own playlists.
-H3 had it right with Grifball AND Flood by not making it a permanent playlist but by making it a special event every so often, once a month, if that. That to me just made more sense.

Glitches are glitches, but when you call in Ordnance and you pick it up instantly and the icon just hovers there telling you what weapon/thing you spawned in when you already picked up that weapon/thing is an extreme annoyance, and how you can sometimes see where’s it’s going to land an other times it gets called in and you have no clue where it lands and it doesn’t show up on your map. Little things like that ruin the idea and concept. Well, and the fact that the random drops are annoying as heck and make no sense, sometimes they glitch out and for whatever reason say they’re all spartan Lasers and on top of how fast weapons can disappear just make it even more irritating.

Another thing I would like to see that’s NOT going to happen is make the spawns like H3 did, not have set teams have set spawns but instead make 2 of every map where it doesn’t matter what team you are, you can spawn on both sides. Make 2 of every map, switch up the team/color spawn points and wallah, easy. People see what color team their on and bam, they back out. Exile is famous for tank spawn/Gauss Hog spawn and on Dominion of that same map one side always has the advantage of Rockets and whatnot. Haven is a great well laid out map and it makes sense and is fair, it’s just the initial spawns are annoying and etc etc with all the other maps. Reach’s Boneyard and Boardwalk were prime examples of the stupid set initial spawns every game. I liked the way H2 Lockout and H3 Guardian felt. You planned out what was to happen and knew what you had to do and when, when the game started… not in lobby. Maybe I’m just oldschool like that. It’s whatever.

I had faith in 343i at the beginning, and a week after games release but now there’s really no faith, hence the reason I believe this is my first real topic or even post on Waypoint? I know I play H4 a lot, but not as much as I could be, or want to be. I have a completionist tendency and it keeps me going with the Commendations but I disagree with how they made this game. I disagree with what direction Halo is headed in. But here’s my voice and here’s my opinion. If I want to try and help make Halo into what I believe would make it better by doing the easy changes and not changing any of game then I might as well say it. I believe this post would only help. Population dilution and too much of a variety. Sure 343i is scared people will leave Halo and the population will drop if this or that happens, but seriously the stats already show the decline in population since it’s release, the little peaks of when the maps came out and now. It’s getting lower and lower day by day. Try the ORIGINAL approach. I’m sure people will like it A LOT BETTER.

I’m going to go now, and honestly I don’t really care about this post and nor do I think I will be getting on Waypoint often, as scarce as I do anyways. I don’t care about these little changes honestly, I just think they would better H4 or spark some new(ORIGINAL HALO, BUNGIE LIKE) ideas for H5 or H6.

Have a nice day/week/month/year/life.

For a person that doesn’t care, you sure did go off on a “little” rant there…

Goes to show you people that don’t post often are making these posts to show their displeasure of the game, even if it means taking the time to do so.

It seems that most of this forum has whiny kids that complain about everything. 343 can’t please the whole entire population. Same thing with Bungie…

It should be noted that the population of Team Objective is less than the population of Team Regicide and Oddball were separately. This seems to support my theory that people aren’t just objective or slayer players, they have specific gametype preferences and don’t want to have to slog through KoTH games that they hate to play Team Regicide.

I’d like to see them return to their original plan, which was rotating playlists. CTF should be permanent, and then set up some sort of rotation schedule with Oddball, KoTH, Team Regicide, and Extraction.

I think, CTF, Extraction, Odd Ball, Throwdown should all be one, objective based games shouldn’t have motion tracker on in the first place.

Nah, flood should be a permanent playlist. Even more, it should have more gametypes and maps.

Team Snipers shouldn’t be put in with SWAT.

Dear OP… You slow.

Took you how many months to decide you don’t want to play?

Unfortunatly I have also lost faith in 343. They have no idea and dont give us what we want. They either ignore or to something else that we dont like.

This is why they evened out the maps to make it more interesting, took out Armor Lock and gave us back the BR and kept the DMR?

I really hate to do this, but I also don’t approve of the current playlist management.

All of a couple weeks ago we were told that Halo 4 is optimally run at 10 playlists, we’re currently 60% above what is most optimal NOT including Spartan Ops.

I don’t get it. There’s so much duplication AND so much missing.

  • Extraction playlist AND Team Objective AND CTF.

  • Big Team Slayer and ZERO Big Team Objective.

  • A 5v5 CTF Playlist, 5v5 nothing else when we were told that Halo 4 Objective games were calibrated to be best played at 5v5.

  • ZERO 3v3 playlists.

  • A Regicide AND a FFA Playlist.

I could go on with some more unpopular duplications/decision, but leave it be at the glaring ones.

MAYBE 343 believes that if they add more/specific playlists the population will start to rise again.

I think that as the population is diluted with all this playlist duplication, game experiences will largely consist of mismatched teams/laggy games, causing more people to quit H4 than what the extra playlist selections will bring into H4.

What’s worse, 2013 began with us being told there was going to be more communication going forward. We would understand stuff like this, it would be given context.

But I’m just not seeing it.

I’m a HUGE 343/Hawty McBloggy/Bravo/Dave Ellis fan, but I just don’t understand where they are going with this, it’s heart breaking in a way.

My thoughts exactly. An Objective of the Week playlist replacing TO is a great idea, so long as CTF stays where it is.

I don’t understand why 343 doesn’t have a FFA playlist with both regicide and slayer game types. FFA was the best thing about reach and now 343 just ignores it.
