Ok, how long is it going to take to get a competitive playlist? Or ANY new playlist for that matter? One of the best things about Halo 2 & 3 were all the different selections you had for playlists and different game types in those playlists. Team Snipers, Shotty Snipers, Oddball, MLG, Doubles, etc. It wouldn’t take much to make a competitive playlist with a BR start, no radar and none of the power ups (ground pound, shoulder charge) that made Halo 2 what it was. Highly disappointed in 343 in the lack of game types and not having a competitive playlist. And on another note, breakout is an epic fail. It shouldn’t be thrown in the arena playlist, it has a playlist of its own. I’m guessing it doesn’t get much play. I know I’m not the only one thinking this, right?
All but BTB are competitive playlists. From the sounds of things what you’re wanting is more of a Classic gametype/playlist.

give time to the game, new up dates, news playlist: like reach. halo 3 and 4
should have at it at launch as the previous halos did
343 already said they will not make a br start playlist(obviously besides btb which is casual) they want starts to be ar/pistol with radar across the board, so it’s not too much of a transition gameplay wise between regular and pro play. All ranked modes are meant to be competitive.

BR starts and no radar doesn’t make a Playlist competitive. This game is so balanced it’s
probably the most competitive in the series.

Halo is no longer a competitive game. All of the mechanics that made halo so competitive have been altered, removed or completely changed to make the franchise appeal to the unskilled casual call of duty style players. Sprint and all of the corresponding abalitys throw off the TTK and teamwork involved in halo and there ranking system is no longer a strict true skill ranking system it’s an everybody wins and everybody gets exp ranking system with arena ranks that reset every month which make them somewhat irrelevant.

I think what your looking for is mostly reference as hardcore
BR start does not make a competitive playlist. Im tired of all these people stuck in the halo 3 days that only a BR should be the starting weapon in any competitive scene. this game was designed around having competitive pistol starts. tournament play does not feature BR starts. BR starts does not equal a competitive playlist. BTB has BR starts and it is not competitive in the way you are referring to. there will always be competition in social playlists.
that being said i can’t agree more that the lack of halo 5 playlists is just sad. countless friends i know are moving onto new games because this one has already grown stale. Working your -Yoink- off for a special armor set is not enough to keep people around. There should be more BR start playlists for people who want them regardless of the reason. There should be more objective game types, there should also be more social playlists as well as more ranked ones. It is sad they can’t just add a few more, we all know they could manage adding a BR start playlist or just adding doubles back. these weak updates have not been enough, not by far. it is not ok to withhold stuff at launch, release it free later, and expect us to be happy as customers. we are paying customers and we do not owe 343 anything, so there should be no defending them here.
I know they were talking about implementing more new playlists soon. I recall seeing something about a classic style game mode, hopefully with original maps (like The Pit remake that’s amazing).
