Enough is enough, 343 has butchered the Halo franchise. Can’t find a single game without getting more than 200+ ping & not a single auzzie server, monetisation is a complete joke in the game, can’t even write your ping number in-game chat without it being censored… all in all, this is the last time i buy or play a Halo game. Can get stuffed 343. Long fan since CE but this is the nail in the coffin for Halo… should never of gone F2P

There’s a Halo Infinite server in Sydney. I know what I would do if I was you…the alternative is to stop playing the game.
I play on them almost every weekend when I play with my Aussie friends.
Oddly enough, the distance doesn’t amplify the desync issues when connecting to an Aussie server rather than an American one.

When I get placed 200+ Unstable Latency I back out of the match, I can get placed in matches with 40ms but it will still put me in 200+ ms servers, I wish I could just turn off servers I don’t want to be placed in that cause high ms
You can. There are methods to do this if you don’t mind being wrongly accused of being a “bad actor”.

A bad actor is whoever signed off on not having anti-cheat in a FTP competitive FPS.
A bad actor is the clutzs behind the net code.
A bad actor is someone who prioritizes milking players like a dairy cow while core features are incomplete or entirely absent.
A bad actor is not a player who doesn’t want to be literally at least 2 seconds behind everyone else in a fast-paced FPS.
Too bad 343i’s community face represented players seeking to avoid bad gameplay experiences as “bad acting”. An entirely avoidable situation if the net code was better and if they let players specify a max ping.

The Australian servers were shut down due to covid, just like the rest of the county.
Not aiming the remarks at you; Your comment correctly frames the issue and 343i’s response without explicitly taking sides. I decided to remove the veil and inject my opinion into the cacophony of frustration in a (hopefully) newish way. Few like an essay that evolves into a rant that devolves into a community spat boiling down to differing opinions on tangential issues.
The use of brackets when modifying a quote for clarity is standard etiquette.

Just add the 7 other aussie’s that play halo and do some custom games.
But yea you have a server, you just don’t have the players.
I’m in Sydney, I can confirm servers are still very populated in all ranks and game modes. My ping is 4-5ms usually. If you’re getting overseas servers frequently, I suggest googling fix halo infinite lag and finding the Reddit post about how to block servers so that you always play in the one you want. My wait time for Sydney servers is no longer than a few seconds in Onyx.

Im just down from sydney and I am constantly in American servers. I did a server block then 343 did an update to stop it working, the only time I had decent ping.

Same, 1/5 games I’ll get an australian server where I am not playing against yanks. Its terrible

Is this still the case? Im on the gold coast and i get a ping of 25 game every 10 games or so. Its ridiculous, every other game is unplayable.
they patched this out. They dont want aussies to have good conections. They just want aussies to play on US servers with bad lag so the US players can feel powerful

Sometimes you get matched from EU to US West Coast because Infinite. Why should it be any different for you 
We all know Australia doesnt exist, thats why there arent any servers for you guys

Honestly if i get anything under 155ping im happy problem is im rarely getting that these days and the game is just no fun with a ping over that. All my friends have already stopped playing, i wish 343 would just allow us to pick a region when searching, im mean how difficult is that.

I’m in western Canada and the nearest Server to me is in Seattle (according to MCC / Halo 5 that let me select the servers) with < 30 ms ping times. But 80% of my matches I was connected to some server in Europe with 250+ ms ping times.
