WHERE'S THE 60 FPS?

I don’t want a “switch the graphics” feature. I want 60fps!

All current gen AAA games should be 60 fps! One dollar per frame! No more excuses about limited hardware.

Halo 1 is ten years old. It should easily run at 120fps on 360.

The graphics quality would be sacrificed.

I don’t see the point in having 60 FPS, there doesn’t seem to be any kind of visual difference when I play Call of Duty other than the graphics being worse.

I’d rather have Halo’s awesome graphics and gameplay than CoD’s meh graphics and meh gameplay. Quality > Quantity.

I’d much rather have 30 spectacular Halo frames that 60 crappy COD frames!

If you’ve played Halo PC, you would have seen how the game isn’t as completely smooth above 30fps as you would think. None of the animations or their animating functions allow them to be displayed above 30fps, so the experience would still be a bit choppy.

They should have done whatever it took to make the game run at 60FPS. We need to get to a point in the gaming industry where 60fps is the norm. Just buckle down and make 60fps happen. Cut polygons, cut effects, whatever it takes. I wish the frame rate was locked in the hardware, so that developers were forced to hit it.

please be joking. 30fps is the current standard, and at least 80% of console games run at that framerate. So don’t go all begging to get 60fps, because it won’t happen.

I want you to try and run say Crysis 2 with 60 FPS on your PC. Consoles are so limited to what they can do when they are over 6years old, heck most console games these days dosent even run near 60 fps.

I’d rather have both graphics than 60FPS. As someone who has a gaming PC, I can say that I really don’t give two (expletives) about 60 frames per second. I’m perfectly content with anything above 29.

Not only that, but it would look wierd on Halo. I for one find 60 to be too smooth, like you’re watching some crappy daytime soap opera. Since EVERY TV show plays at 29.97 FPS, I feel it’s more cinematic to play it like that.

Wow I never knew 60 fps made SUCH a BIG difference.

crysis 2 is a console port so its easy to run on PC.

60 fps would be nice, but i wouldn’t want to loose the graphics they have currently. just buy the PC version if you want 60FPS…who am i kidding, i played halo PC and i got 1065 fps at one point. cards today can utterly destroy that game.

The “FPS” argument reminds me of the bit wars of the 90s.

Many of Halo’s mechanics are directly based upon the framerate, so you mess with that, and things start getting screwy.

For example, the ‘fall timer’ (fall damage) was different between the 25FPS PAL version of the game and the 30FPS NTSC version of the game.

Maintaining the mechanical gameplay integrity of Halo 1 was the absolute top priority with Anniversary. You can argue with that decision if you like, but with that decision made, 30FPS is non-negotiable.

ITT: Massively-misplaced priorities.

Oh, but the original ran at 30 fps -trollface-

This nullified all arguments. Logic is flawed.

Why has CE suddenly become everyone’s horse to flog? Seriously, this game was a $40 remake, and they explicitly stated what it was going to be, and, as far as I can tell, didn’t go back on a single word of that. How are all of these threads about “where is my ____” spawning into existence? Why are people so ignorant?

Battlefield 3 is a AAA title and it is capped at 30 FPS (on the consoles).

Dollar per frame? You paid $39 for the game.
