Where's Flood and Elite FireFight?

I check in all the settings for either of them, but can’t find anything. Did they get delayed?

It’s been delayed to some time during S8.

Hopefully the Bishop helmet will come back as well!

It was in the flight and everything….

People sure want that thing!

(Deleted for being duplicate comment)

At least 2 person Firefight is back. And an optional rockets only for scrubs like me.

It was delayed till they could be properly finished and expanded upon.

For Elites:
Stealth Elites were unused and missing a dedicated Stealth Elite wave like in reach
Ultras/Spec Ops commanders were all using Shipmasters head
there was no Dedicated Spec Ops patrol wave utilizing the Spec Ops Elites and the unused Spec Ops Grunts
All rifle style melee animations did no damage
The AI could get lost and had no ability to sandbox correctly without having a line of sight on the player
All Elites could not spawn in on phantom dropships

For Flood:
The game could soft lock
They could get stuck in walls and spawn
Lacked the ability to sandbox
Carriers had no AI
Insertion pod SFX could potentially be planned in lieu of dropships.

It’s just a shame that it don’t count towards the Firefight challenge as it’s not full set rip.

One playlist is.
Might as well play with 4 dudes to kill a whole set though.

We will probably see the Flood and the Elites appearing in the next Halo Master Chief Collection updates. I will say we could see them coming out either on February 2022 or March 2022. 343 Industries really need a lot of time to fix the bugs and glitches in the Halo 3: ODST Firefight especially when it comes to the Flood and the Elites.

I’m not sure if the first and third reasons are part of why Elites got delayed. Since it is unused and possibly unfinished content, I don’t know if 343 have any plans to do something with it, and I don’t think they would want to do more than they have to or what they have already decided on, considering restoring AI types is probably more work than something like the Halo Reach cut helmets.

Ooh, by the way, the Elites and Phantoms thing isn’t entirely true. They don’t deploy from them normally, yes, but during the Elites wave specifically, Phantoms do fly in…to drop off a single Elite each! Haha, those Elites must be pretty special to get an entire Dropship just for themselves…

They mentioned this in the Seasonal Sitrep video and even in the MCC Dev blog thread here on waypoint.

Elites & Flood firefight for ODST isn’t quite ready for launch yet. They’re polishing up the experience before they release it.
The current plan is to release it in a update sometime this season.

Remember, not all content from a flight is going to make it into the main build of the game. Flights are meant to test, if a feature isn’t ready it gets held back until it is.

Stealth Elites work from what i understand, they’re just in the same brain dead state Elites were before the flight which is easily fixed by using the same basic Elite AI the others have. Spec Ops grunts definitely work though, they just never had a reason to be used before since brutes had no Spec Ops rank (though I have advocated restoring the Brute Trackers so as to have a Brute rank that exclusively uses Beam Rifles like some ultras did on tsavo highway, would work if they too were paired up with Spec Ops Grunts)

As for the dropships, I never saw any elites spawn out of them during testing, though I do know they have the ability to do so somewhat.
