Let him write Halo 5& the next Spartan Ops!! 343i Bring back Eric Nylund!!! We need a Jedi Master - Seriously…The Halo 4 story was not bad, Spartan Ops could be better too.
I wouldn’t mind paying for Spartan Ops Season 2,but…would need a vast amount of improvement.
Hell no. Nylund did an awful job conveying the fall of the planet Reach.
I’d rather have Greg Bear or Eric Nylund write it.
Karen Travis is literally screwing it up.

There was massive firefights, and lots of explosions. I would fully support that being in Spartan Ops.
Yes. He did a great job with the novel ‘First Strike’ so I don’t see why not.
Eric Nylund is definitely the best Halo writer when it comes to the stories of Spartans. And Spartans are gonna be in the spotlight, in Halo 5 and possible future Spartan Ops seasons, so I wish for Nylund to make a comeback too.
Yes please!
If there is 1 person who knows Halo’s story best its Nylund. He literally shaped the story more than Bungie and 343i have done.
But this new trilogy leans heavily on the Forerunner novels as well, so a collabo with Greg Bear would be even better.
Just leave Traviss out of it…she replaced Nylund but can’t come close to him
With the Reclaimer Trilogy being heavy on learning more about the Forerunners I’d say having Greg Bear being one of the writers for the next two games and any future Spartan Ops seasons would make sense. I’d also love to see Karen Traviss be a writer for the games. (I don’t understand all the hate for her. I like her writing way better than anything Nylund has done.)

I really don’t like the Forerunner Saga. It’s not very clearly written.
My 3 favorite books in the whole series are Fall of Reach, First Strike, and Ghosts of Onyx. Funny if you look at the common aspect with all of them.
Fall of Reach is, for me, by far the best in the series. It actually wrote the Covenant as a THREAT. It depicted the desperate struggle for survival by the humans much better than the game did. It established the fact that the Covenant landing on Reach was a HUGE deal. It gave a huge amount of weight to the Covenant and essentially established the entire canon.

It is different, that’s for sure. But I like the radically different style.

Perhaps I should clarify. When I say I didn’t care for Nylund’s books, I mean in terms of his writing. It just seems very poor to me. The actual events that take place in his books are interesting and enjoyable. I just wish they had been written by a better quality author. (Just my opinion)
I’d love to see Nylund return for another Halo novel. Hell, 343i should hire him for Infinite DLC story writing.
