Has it occured to anyone how there’s no mention of the other members of Blue Team in anything in anything relating to Halo Infinte? I mean we get to see them in the Halo Shadows of Reach’s cover art showing they got updated designs for the new art style (unless it was merely to showcase updated gen 3 armor based off their previous armor which could be usable in Halo Infinite). While Halo Infinite is said to “double down” on John, do you think this could imply they’re cutting the team based gameplay for a more classic approach? For context, I’m fine with either/or (gameplay-wise), I just hope the others are still alive and active during the events.
I mean, besides the opening cutscene, and the reveal that we’ll be fighting the banished, there hasn’t really been any info on the game whatsoever really. No mention of the created, infinity and her crew, Arby and the Swords…
The fact that Shadows of Reach is setting up Infinite and that Blue Team are in it… hints that they’ll be in the game? I think it’s also pretty safe to suggest that the Banished are the occupying force on Reach in the book.
I get the feeling that they’re being given the boot for Infinite and Shadows of Reach will explain why they’re going to be separated from John - again - for the game.
I’d love to be proven wrong since I love Linda so much, and FINALLY we get to see Blue Team in a game only for them to be thrown out again, but I did read somewhere that Infinite would be “using the same co-op system as Halo 5” - to me that’d suggest that either (A) the revive mechanic is returning, or (B) we’ll have selectable allies again. Whether that means Blue Team’s sticking around (Maybe as co-op only figures akin to the Arbiter’s two companions in Halo 3) or not remains to be seen.
I just hope that this “Doubling down on John” doesn’t mean they’ll be forsaking other respected characters, like the Arbiter, Buck, and so on.
I hope they are included and that there’s an option to have them with you at all times like halo 5. I’m hoping the first level is finding and reuniting with them based on the opening cutscene.
Maybe the co-op is the drop in/out feature. Though imagine the other players are Marines. That’ll be cool.
