Where's a population counter?

Ok so sometimes I play earlier in the morning and at odd hours into the night, and this morning I couldn’t find a match, at all, why is there no playlist population statistic in game? You already showed us the sales numbers of Halo 5 (3.78-3.81 million total sales, pretty garbage) so why don’t we have playlist population counters?

I would guess 343i don’t want people to know how “few” people who are playing the game out of fear that even more people will leave.
There have been posts about it before and it seems that there isn’t that many people playing it anymore.

In this post they are discussing the population but i don’t think anyone has any reliable numbers.

However few players there are i don’t care.
I will play this game in many months to come.

As long as you have enough for two teams or enough for FFA it shouldn’t matter

It would be too embarrassing for them to post.

It would also become discouraging for players. If they saw how small the population is today then they would take their game discs to Game Stop tomorrow.

Not to say it isn’t obvious… I find myself randomly playing against people on my friends list way too often (maybe even more than I realize, because I never know until they send me a message after the game).

They’re hidinnit so you can’t see how little halo 5 actually sold. That should give people a good idea of how bad halo is doing now.

If there any game that is relatively new, last year or so, that has a population counter?

I don’t think there is one to be honest I checked all over didn’t find anything about it

Doesn’t Steam host a population counter for almost every game they sell?

EDIT: like this

Interesting platform. But there is no game that has this, it was nice to have, but I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

I have to say that i actually am experiencing the very same thing. I meet people on my friends list at random quite often.

The numbers are very low. I play against the same people (randoms) over and over again.

343 / MS will never post a population counter in Halo 5 to save face.

Knowing how this will work out, a question about population counters is not a discussion on population, lets keep this topic going.

My take is they are trying to safe face, if there was one it would be a visual expression of a displeasure with their product versus the past products.

Agreed; and that probably is exactly why they don’t have a population counter.

I keep very odd hours as I work a rotating shift for my job and I never have any issue finding games on any playlist and I even use the focused search type.

Look up Xbox one’s most popular list. Last I checked, halo 5 was at #8.

I’m sure the population is low as I always end up playing the same people but I don’t care as I still enjoy the game

Please use this thread to discuss this topic, thanks.
