Where will the Halo universe go after the upcoming Halo Infinite? Is it possible that the next Halo video game will be a spin off video game where the ODST troopers are the main characters again? Would like to hear your thoughts.
We have no way of knowing until Infinite releases and then make guesses. it’ll be a while, ugh…
we kind of need to know where infinite is going first to make that guess lol I would be down for an ODST 2 or a covenant/elite spin off.
Hopefully not away. I don’t think the franchise is in danger of entirely flickering out after (possibly) one more big letdown, but considering that the 343i Era has already seen a tremendous diminishment in general interest and acclaim for the series, I just hope that Infinite is a home run.
I wouldn’t get too concerned about thinking beyond that yet; Focusing on Infinite itself should be top priority for the time being.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Infinite has a lot to live up to before we start thinking about beyond Infinite. I’d be rather worried actually if 343 was worried about the next game before finishing the current one.
Hopefully the Champaign will be much stronger this go around and far beyond an afterthought.
Halo needs a hard reboot of its series to survive the long term. Probably need closure on Cortana,
and time to move forward from a different angle entirely. Realistically, even MC will have to hang up
the spurs at some point and the new generation takes over the honor of protecting humanity.
If Infinite somehow can accomplish this, including giving MC a decent send off and kick off the
new generation, then there maybe hope after all. Otherwise, the risk of the series continuing it’s
downward spiral could be unavoidable. Although, if MC can maintain an image like the
icons such as Batman, Superman, etc, then the future could be hopeful with minor refreshes
in story line. But even that’s a tuff road to haul on.
To Infinite and beyond… I’m see myself out.
Hard to project the future direction of Halo before experiencing Infinite. However, I hope there are many more video games and books in this series down the road.
As long as it is making money, there will be. And Halo 5 made a lot of money!
