Where to shoot vehicles

I’m curious where the most effective place to shoot vehicles is. In Reach, while MM was loading, it said to hit a Scorpion in the treads with a sniper for most damage. Is that true for H4, too? My buddy tells me to aim for the Warthog gun for the most damage. I see no logic in that. I’ve also been told to aim for the front hood on the Wraith. Also not sure about the Mantis or Banshee, or any vehicle for that matter.

I know people have done tests for kill times with particular weapons vs players. Has anyone done any destroy times for vehicles? Where is best to aim when shooting with sniper (or other percision weapon)? Thanks.

For the Ghost and Banshee, aim for the wings.

For the Warthog the hood and the wheels.

For the Scorpian tank and Wraith aim for the canopy.

For Mantis, drop the shields and pour your clips into the mech.

It’s not that is does “The Most Damage” when you aim for the treads. It’s just that by killing the treads, you’re keeping it from moving around. It makes it less effective and easier to kill afterwards while still doing damage. You can also blow the top off the scorpion, which means they can’t shoot with it.
Same goes for the wheels of the hog and the canopy of the Wraith.
The nose of the wraith is actually the worst place to aim. The back, the side do a lot more damage. BUT, while aiming at the canopy, you can remove its ability to fire, turning it into a moving turret gun.
For the ghost, it used to be that the circle on the left (with the spinning light) was like the “fuel tank” that made it blow up faster. I don’t know if that’s still true.

Aiming at the vents of the Scorpion or Wraith has been a quick way to kill it since Halo 3. I’m like 99% sure it’s still effective.

I didn’t know the treads could be snapped.

They can’t. I don’t know what he is talking about. I always interpreted that whole “fire into the treads of the Scorpion” was just intended to illustrate that the sniper rifle can do some serious damage to a vehicle, but not necessarily the most to a Scorpion by shooting its treads. I agree with the other previous posts saying that the best place for the tanks (Wraith, Scorpion) to be shot would be the rear armor. Theoretically, it should be the weakest here.
