im talking about the ones that get one kill and then hide the rest of the match to get the commendation boost. there is always one in every one of my matches and now its ticking me off because some even send messages to the rest of use that played and say “thnx for helping me boost troll face”. i wanna get these people banned im sick of them. they will hide in spots like the courtyard area and places like that.
There is nowhere sadly. I know what you mean these guys get to me too. Just mute avoid file a compliant and move on. Guess nothing will be done about them?. Just show them you don’t need them.
I love getting over 200 kills and 0 deaths they soon quit after one match then, or I just back out coz I don’t play with afk players.
Having sad all of that, the last time Bungie (when they controlled Halo) had 2 weeks of back to back firefight weeklys there was a mass rank reset and banning of all afk/idle players.
So lets hope the fact there has been 3 in a very short period of time means 343i are looking into this problem too.
Players have been inventing ways to hide lately - I have seen two “new” ones on Glacier. I doubt the players would be caught though - in one case he spammed rockets on the way to his hidey-hole. He got 40 kills for less than a minute of work, and then sat out the rest of the game.
It might be too big a task, but any game that has all 4 players yet does not make it to the bonus round would be suspect.
Maybe they could implement some logic to detect “no movement/shots fired/kills” for an entire round, rather than a whole game. It might require a “multiple offense” counter though, so you don’t get tagged for your batteries dying.

All of the resets are manual. 343 is busy working on Halo 4, and is not focusing on Reach anymore. This is evidenced further by the “Why did I get banned” topic getting unpinned.
Sadly I would think you are right, Bungie never fixed the idle players and 343i just don’t have the time. I just find it very unfair that I have and always will play firefight properly and earnt my rank legit. Whilst afk/idle players give high ranking players a bad name and don’t deserve their ranks.

Just try to use the idle/afk players as a Meatshield, it’s pretty funny, I do that all the time.
i LOVE when i get AFK FF players on my team. ALL THE VEHICLES ARE MINES!
So long as it’s just one, it’s annoying, but an AFK plus a quitter means things are going to be hectic. I am working on commendations, so I try and avoid the “big boom” weapons and concentrate on snipe/pistol/AR but also on not dying. It’s a balance overall, and makes it harder when you look around and there are just two of you shooting.
Oh - on using the AFK’s as a meatshield - I do that as much as I can, but these are people who jetpack to the top of a building or rock formation and squeeze into a hole. No way you can get the Coveys to follow.
As someone who has 4800 perfections and over 6000 Grounded, I can say FF AFKers are one of the most frustrating things on this game. The whole “Why should I do any work when I can just let everyone else do it while I rake in the perfections?” The worst ones are the ones who know how to avoid the ban, by AFKing the entire game and coming out only for the bonus round. Oh well, 200 more perfections and I’ll have everything onyxed…no more firefight for me!
Congrats Enzo. I’m not quite there, but soon. Not sure if I’m going to get the two you mentioned, though.

I played Glacier twice today and noticed on both games there was a ‘hider’
what benefit is there in doing this??? i really dont get it!!
if you want the not dying one, go for Score Attack. I love it when AFK players are on FF, more kills and credits for me.
It’s the Matchmaking AFKers and Quitters that are the problem.
