its just strange 343 wouldnt put in odsts into halo 4. they are very loved. heck not even a odst helmet. recruit may look like it but its not the same.someone clarify why none in game!
You use then on wargames
Yep… they are the S4s
All the Spartan IVs in the game are ODSTs. It just sucks that there wasn’t any REAL ODSTs in the game.
As for the helmet, the Recruit and Air Assault helmets are the closest you can get, sadly.
My thoughts as well, no sign of ODSTs anywhere. Except for one of the Crimson achievements.
Spartan IVs have essentially taken their place but lack the brains and guns to match.
Infinity’s landing section was pitiful compared to Delta Halo, The Ark, and The Covenant.
First of all, you could hand a power weapon to one of them. In Halo 2, it was a Rocket Launcher. In Halo 3, it was a Sniper Rifle and Spartan Laser.
Secondly, you could bring them all the way to about the end of the level. When you finally got to the tank on The Ark, did you kick the marines out and get your ODST pals who you fought hard to keep alive in instead? I know I did. And did you bring the ODSTs on your Hornet and had them assist you in the Scarab? I know I’ve done that quite a few times.
Lastly, if you stuck around to save them, you were rewarded with a Hog or with ordnance.
Halo 4 has only retained the last one. But really, you’re given the Scorpion right at the start so there’s no point in even sticking around to save them because Scorpion beats everything.
so your saying all the odsts went into spartan 4 augmentation?
I wonder if the rooky is now a S4
When the new Spartan program was launched, instead of kidnapping kids or using orphans, they chose the best of the best already in the military, and the best of the best were the ODST.
So a large portion, if not all of them, are now Spartans.

“Spartans” is what they are the real spartans are the IIs and the IIIs

very good point i would love to see him and mostly buck in future halos as spartan 4s
Doing there own thing.
Well, seeing as how the Infinity is basically the mobile Command Center for the Spartan-IVs, there’s no reason for there to be ODSTs on the ship. I’m sure ODSTs still exist elsewhere, but not in Halo 4. Maybe, hopefully, they’ll show up again in future Halo games.
There’s still Kilo-Five.
> There’s still Kilo-Five.
Whasen’t kilo-five the gruop that is leaded by Serin Osman? Parangosky pet spartan?
There’s like 2 spartans on that gruopr the rest are ODSTs probably S4s

That makes me wonder about Bucks team… and Dare.
I was a bit surprised the Infinity didn’t have a contingent of ODSTs with the Spartan IVs and regular marines.
Hopefully we see them return in future Halo games.

Weren’t there marines on the infinity?
A lot of SPARTAN-IVs could be ODSTs. Hehe we used to have this battle between ODSTs and Spartans.
I’m a bit surprised that there were no ODST with the Infinity, at least none that appeared anyways, and I find it hard to believe every ODST became a S-IV. And during the first Spartan Ops mission, Palmer mentions the Navy, Army, and Marine forces on Requiem, so it still seems really odd.
And if they became S-IVs or not, I’d like to see what became of Buck’s ODST. Either appearing in a Spartan Ops mission or getting another side story down the line.
Spartan IV’s are supposed to be the healthy mix between ODSTs and Spartan II/IIIs.
