Where is the support for casual players?

So my friends and I got together last night for a gaming party. We had three screens, three Xbox 360s, and Reach. There was seven of us and we had just the best time playing split screen over system link. We played custom games like Godzilla, Day-Z, Jenga, Sniper City, and even just regular infection. Where did all the support for this go?! Don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of things about Halo 5, but I feel like I can’t have as much fun just interacting over XBlive. There’s just something about having everyone together in the same room playing together. I know they’re working on the Forge and fileshare system, but I think their removal of split screen was just too far. I loved playing forge split screen with my family and now I when I play halo, I’m by myself on my couch. Also the fact that Halo has to be always online now, which makes it a ton harder to system link. You can’t just do an offline custom game anymore. These social features were some of the main pillars of Halo and I think removing them is just inexcusable.

Agreed. Halo 5 is much more competitive than social. At launch, major gametypes like forge, infection, koth, etc were missing. Campaign was stale and there is no split screen. And the UI is absolutely lackluster.

But somehow, pre launch, 343I was able to set up a tournament with a million dollar plus prize pool, assemble a hyped “launch party”, and showcased warzone and arena, but barely discussed custom games and split screen.

60 fps > splitscreen.

Halo 4 was completely Casual and you saw how that turned out.
So Halo 5 is for the competitive community, and it is extremely enjoyable.
Besides, you have Warzone, BTB and Forge.

Why not both? Unless you are a dank 420 quickscope MLG telletubie gamer, then you could hardly tell the difference between Halo 5 and 4, as I heard.

An option to switch between performance and split screen would be a great fix if 60 fps is too much to handle.

Halo 4 > Halo 5 then?

Support for casual players is not currently available, but if you pay just $50 in Microtransactions fees, we can can speed up the process.

Sarcasm There are “Casual” playlists which are just unranked. You can expect to see actual casual in a future update.

I agree, I don’t hate the competitive play in any way, but if we could have the best of both worlds, it would be so much more enjoyable. The custom game and social aspect of Halo Reach and 3 mixed with the competitiveness of Halo 5 would appeal to a much broader audience.

From what I heard, a genius at 343 made the decision to tie the physics engine to the 60 fps rate, and then when they were unable to maintain a consists 60 fps for split screen, it basically broke the game because people playing split screen would be playing in slow motion.

Tieing physics to frame rate isn’t uncommon, its basically a lazy work around for devs. In other words, it was lazy and cheap design decisions meant no split screen.

You can unlock the support in a REQ pack.

But seriously, if the whole point of split screen being gone is so that all the players in a game wouldn’t suffer because of two split screeners, then why not just confine them to custom games, forge and campaign?

I also heard that they didn’t have it so they could preserve the marvelous campaign experience, but that’s completely laughable. In case they haven’t noticed, nobody liked the campaign.

Warzone is more aimed at casual playing while arena is competitive. Why not get your seven mates together on Xbox Live, party up and hit warzone hard! Sure you’ll have fun!

Split-screen is more important than slight increase in FPS.

One problem with Warzone is that it’s only two game modes. And only 4/3 maps.

I could definitely understand cutting out split screen for matchmaking, but I would love to see it in other parts, I was kind of sad when my dad wanted to play some campaign with me and I had to put the MCC in because Halo 5 doesn’t support split screen yet.

Double the frame rate is not a slight increase.

mcc = 60fps + 4 player splitscreen so?

That is exactly the case.

Spartan Chatter and power weapon timers help casual players.
