Where Is the Recoil Spring on the Halo 5 Magnum

I have looked through countless schematics of real pistols, scores of H5 screenshots and vids, yet I still am stumped as to where the heck the spring for the slide of the M6H2 in Halo 5: Guardians is.

the above picture basically shows what the slide is like. most pistols have the spring either around or under the barrel like this: http://cdn.gun-tests.com/media/newspics/300/ppk-5-AC.jpg and this: http://www.m1911.org/operation/m1911-06.jpg. The P38 Luger had its spring in the handle like this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/30/c8/b6/30c8b6a85d144e6f631681906ac5260d.jpg
Any ideas?

Sorry I don’t know much about guns  All I can say is that in the Halo universe, pistol technology has apparently advanced beyond needing springs. What I want to know is how those little smart-link hologram projectors work

In the video game world, if you aren’t going to see it then there’s no point in wasting digital space to render a model for it. Conceptually, there probably is a recoil spring it’s just not in the game version.

Much like the common AR15 of out day, it doesn’t look like it is a traditional recoil operated weapon. Instead it used a gas-operation with either a gas tube or pusher rod. At least that’s what I can glean from the picture.

Spartans are impervious to pistol recoil.

There is a tiny computer in UNSC weapons called a Smart-Link module that connects to the Spartan’s VISR system. This is also why the UNSC weapons have far more information and look more elaborate than the Smart-Link for Covenant and Promethean weapons.

I want to say the internal works of each Magnum are similar to that of the Desert Eagle, a similarly hard-hitting pistol.

No spring. Gas tube fo’ sho’.
