where is the needle rifle?

what happened to the needle rifle? i miss this gun as it was a favorite of mine in reach. the covenant need a x3 rifle too, they lack one. it would be perfectly fine in the game alongside the carbine, just as the DMR and BR are fine side by side. they could have made it a unique x3 marksman gun too chose…disappointed the needle rifle is not in H4.

I kinda want all the guns back. I mean why not?

The Needle Rifle was essentially a replacement for the Carbine in Halo: Reach.

Having them both is highly redundant.

I agree! The Needle Rifle was such a unique and interesting weapon, it’s a real shame to see it go… It should have definitely been the one rifle to return from Reach instead of the DMR.

I would have preferred the needle rifle a heck of a lot more than the DMR. That tiny reticule alone would make cross-mapping difficult

the needle rifle is different enough from the Carbine and DMR to avoid redundancy. it would function as a x3 long range weapon like the DMR and lightrifle, with a higher fire rate with lower damage per shot. it that is what best suits a player, they could pick it.

The same place the Plasma Rifle and most of the Brute arsenal went, the void of oblivion.

And having the DMR and BR in the same game isn’t?

I’m hoping we see more of the brutes in Halo 5. Their backstory should be…interesting, and bloody.

I dislike the fact that there are now long-range rifles in general, so Im not too keen on bringing another one into the picture.

I respect the fact that people want a semi-auto rifle (even though the carbine already does that), but honestly, long range should ONLY be utilized by sniper rifles NOT service rifles.

It could be utilized by service rifles and be acceptable if they weren’t capable of being in the Loadout choices.

Agreed. It was fine in reach when everyone spawned with them. Heck, even throwing a couple on the map to pick up wouldnt be a bad idea either. As of now though they completely freeze map movement.

The last thing we need is another weapon that behaves like the DMR or LightRifle, you’d just be adding more pointless weapons to the sandbox.

Also, the Needle Rifle is a 2X scope weapon, just like the Carbine. There is no reason adding yet another 3X scope weapon to the game. Let’s not forget it is also impossible.

If you want to suggest it for future Halo games, go suggest it in General Discussion.

The DMR is a long range weapon while the Battle Rifle is a mid range weapon. It isn’t redundant at all.

I love the Needler Rifle too, but we have enough precision weapons in this game already lol.

  1. DMR
  2. BR
  3. Carbine
  4. Light Rifle
  5. The power weapons

DO we really need another one?

The sniper could easily fill the role of the DMR. But the DMR was given nearly the same range and less power. In this example the DMR is just redundant as we already had a weapon to fill the role it has.

The redundant thing about having the DMR and BR in the same game is that they are both the UNSC’s main precision weapons. Besides, redundancy or not, why not add options? Halo has always had lots of those.

The DMR is a 5 shot precision weapon.
The Sniper rifle is a one shot sniper weapon.

Obviously they won’t have one over the other, that’s just silly.

There is nothing redundant about the DMR/BR being in the same game, the DMR is a long range primary weapon while the BR is a medium range primary weapon and of course, the Assault Rifle in the close range primary weapon.

There is no reason to have yet another Covenant medium range weapon in the game when we always have the Carbine.

Why not? Halo has always had variety, and more really isn’t a problem (as long as we don’t come to the same amount of loadout weapons CoD has).

The Needle rifle behaved slightly differently anyway in that it had the ability to conduct a super-combine effect. That difference is enough in my eyes to justify a return.

Yeah I think the LR replaced it and it’s a shame because I liked the needle rifle :frowning:

Not really, the NR has more range and can give some one the pink mist.

It died with Reach.

But I guess it would be nice to see a return of the Needle Rifle in H5.

More weapons is never a bad thing.
