Where is the global rank?

First off, having a blast playing Infinite! It’s been too long since I’ve been so excited to play a Halo game.

It’s pretty obvious that the battlepass progression needs a bit of a makeover, so I won’t repeat what’s been mentioned already. One issue I experienced is the lack of global rank. Before the whole battlepass system, we had a general rank to show how much we’ve played - whether that was a military rank, a badge, or even a simple number. It was always great to see that progression go up as your number of matchmade games increased. Why was it dropped?

A real-life example of why I think this is important: I convinced my buddy to download Infinite. We played a few games and had a blast. After two hours of playing, and only one battlepass level, he was discouraged by no indication of progress. Now I’m not sure if that’ll be fixed when the battlepass is adjusted, but I think an easy remedy would be a general global rank like we’ve seen in past games.

Has this been mentioned by 343? Would love to hear others’ thoughts. Also, I know we’ll never see it, but my dream would be a return to Halo 3 global ranks!

I do completely agree on your point that a global rank should be introduced in order to have some universal measurement for time spend playing the game.

For me, I have always enjoyed the task of reaching the final rank independently on how time consuming the task may be. Due to this general interest, I have managed to reach the following ranks for the respective Halo games.

  • Halo Reach | Inheritor / Max Rank
  • Halo 4 | SR130 / Max Rank
  • Halo 5: Guardians | SR152 / Max Rank
  • Halo: Master Chief Collection | Tour 7, Level 22 (Rank 202/330)

When it comes to MCC, the eta for reaching the final rank is a bit less than 10 years which isn’t that bad.
