WHERE IS THE DLC PLAYLIST?

When will 343 give us an official DLC playlist? I refuse to play the game at all and support anymore DLC until I am able to fully complete the achievements I need.

I’ve waited patiently since June to have access to playing the old DLC maps. 343 has not addressed this issue.

I started this thread yesterday: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postsm2827125_To-All-Those-Asking-for-a-DLC-Only-Playlist.aspx#post2827125
The dates for the DLC playlist are there in the MM Systems Team quote. Also some links to find dates for other upcoming playlists.
Keep an eye out for next week’s Bulletin. Bravo will be discussing more details, and we will know which maps we need to play. I sure hope you can dedicate yourself to playing this for two weeks. Maybe we can get it back to a permanent playlist.

Thank you kind sir. I will be playing the DLC playlist all the time. Nothing else but that.

We need to spread the word though. Every forum needs to know to login on 20th January.

I think just posting about it is about all we can do, and frequenting the playlist as much as possible. I hope it works, but we’ll see. I’m a little skeptical since the thread I created isn’t getting much response. Maybe too little too late.

P.S. Not to make a big deal, but I feel the need to point out that I am not a sir. Just a girl who likes to play and talk Halo. There’s a few of us on here. So it might be good to keep that in mind. No biggie really. Just a little heads up.

I can’t wait for the DLC play list!!!

I’ve been dying to play the DLC maps again! The news of getting that playlist is music to my ears.

If I remember correctly: 343 said they will be monitoring the playlist closely, meaning if you play it enough they might make I permanent. And just because you can’t get your achievements Doesnt mean you should stop supporting halo. It’s not 343s fault that not a lot of people bought the dlc

What are the requirements to play in this playlist? Do you have to have all the map packs or all the maps including the champions bundle or just some of the maps?

Unknown at this time. We’ll probably get more info on Wednesday in the bulletin.

I really want to play dlc as well tired of forge maps…

Actually it kinda is, who else are we going to blame?

343 would have been in charge of making maps that we want to play. Apparently, the maps weren’t ideal for most players. I’d like to also mention the fact that the DLC released so quickly after release so it was kinda like we were force fed. When it comes down to it, it’s definitely 343’s fault that many avoided the map packs. Make content that people want and they will buy it. Either way, I wish map packs could be free.

I get every piece of Halo content and it’s certainly starting to not be worth it. Why buy DLC if I’m only going to play the maps when the primary playlist is released with the DLC for a month or so? I wish we could just go back to the Halo 2 model. Most people that wait over a month for DLC probably weren’t going to buy the maps anyway. Everyone else that is willing to pay has to suffer. It’s kinda bs and if the DLC situation isn’t figured out by Halo 5 I’ll probably avoid all DLC content.

The Map Pack specific playlists are nothing new, they’ve been happening since Halo 3 (can’t remember much of Halo 2 since I only played it for the last year or so before Halo 3). And every time each one was removed after 1-2 months and the maps integrated into the existing playlists. Thats how Bungie did it back then, thats how 343 are doing it now. Theres been no change in how DLC playlists operate. The only difference is that earlier Halo games had a bigger audience and less competition from other popular shooters. Yes Halo 3 had DLC playlists more often than Halo 4. But because more people had the DLC, it showed up more in regular playlists and the DLC playlists were always some of the least populated until they were removed.

We can’t go back to how DLC was handled in Halo 2. I can’t stress enough on these forums about Microsoft’s current (and strict) DLC policy, which doesn’t allow ANY DLC with tied achievements to be made free. Achievements didn’t exist on the original Xbox, therefore if Microsoft felt they gained enough revenue from DLC sales they made it free. And Halo 3’s Heroic map pack had no achievements, so it was made free after a few months (same with the stand alone Cold Storage map, made by Bungie as a thank you to the fans).

I miss the DLC too. I was just looking back yesterday. Some of the DLC maps are amazing. Harvest, Landfall, Daybreak, Vertigo… those are my favorite maps in the game. If they can’t make achievement based DLC free then they should just make at least one map pack that doesn’t require achievements.

Yeah, as the rest have you have more eloquently stated, DLC map integration is just a huge, huge problem. It’s heartbreaking that we don’t get to stomp around on some of the better maps (Majestic). All they can really do is have it required, and hopefully free at some point. Take some history lessons from Halo 2 DLC. MS needs to show it appreciates its hardcore Halo fan base and not worry so hard about making an extra buck off of content.

Ironically that mentality has lost -Yoink!- a lot of money in this case.
