The new trailer was pretty awesome, but I’m curious why we haven’t had much Chief/Blue Team time in the marketing department/game play department ? No matter what they keep saying I’m getting worried Blue team will be a small part of the game (game play wise not story wise).
I’ve worried about that as well. This is a game starring the Master Chief and yet he is left out of most of the marketing for the game.

They’re simply trying to market newer things. People who don’t like Halo, may see Master Chief, and immediately discard the trailer and never watch it. However, if they see a newer side to things, it may pique their curiosity.
Relax. They just want people to know more about Osiris. I’m pretty sure there will be just as much Blue Team as there will be Osiris. But we already know Chief and the rest of Blue Team. We know they’re badass, but others need to see what Osiris is capable of. They’re new, so they need more spotlight. Chief’s been the center for 4 games, and he’s more than likely still the center of this one.

Regardless, it’s like marketing a Metroid game without Samus, or a Mario game without Mario. Why wouldn’t you wanna show off your main character for his own game just to appeal to people who don’t care for the game anyway? Halo fans will watch a million trailers with the Chief in them time and time gain. We are who they should be appealing to.
I’d imagine that the Chief’s part of the game offers the most spoilers, while Locke’s parts serve to contextualize things. Plus they have to get people invested in Osiris. So it makes sense that they would market that side more. Right at that point in the game, Blue Team are probably on UNSC Argent Moon during the second mission, known as Blue Team.
Give me a break dude. They ARE marketing to us. You might find this rather hard to believe, but quite a lot of Halo fans like Halo outside of the Master Chief. Besides, Chief has been a core part of Halo 5’s advertising and hype for a while now. He got his own live-action trailer alongside Locke, Locke’s main mission in the game revolves around him, Hunt the Truth used Chief as the focal point for its story, Chief got his own arc in Halo: Escalation, and it looks like the Fall of Reach animated series is going to still put a big part of the narrative on him.

But they have shown Chief… like, a lot. “It’s like marketing a Metroid game without Samus” doesn’t really add up when she’s in the majority of the trailers. You know what wouldn’t make sense? Introducing this huge, critical portion of the story only to let it fall flat due to a lack of marketing.
They are simply trying to get people excited about Locke. There will be plenty of Chief.

The only trailer I’ve seen dedicated to the Chief was the live action one. Everything else has been Locke and Osiris.

My thoughts exactly! I may be totally wrong but I really feel they are trying to push new Spartans to be the MAIN characters in the games. Now I know the story may “revolve around Chief” but how much are we really playing as him?I am not against new Spartans taking major rolls so long as Chief is the MAIN roll in titled games. I loved reach inspite of its lack of Chief. You don’t have to remove the main protagonist add new characters.

Having new characters besides Chief have the spotlight isn’t a bad thing.
Who needs Chief when you got Buck?!

I have paid attention. I’ve watched every trailer and listened to all the Hunt the Truth audio logs. I’m talking more about having a trailer dedicated to the Chief. The live action trailer is one, where are the others? All I’m seeing is Locke and Osiris being shown off.

Yeah, that trailer had me the moment they jumped out of the Pelican.
Marketing might also be going with the canon and mystery of Blue team’s disappearance. (We got the MC live action and a bit of Blue team campaign footage). Marketing isn’t just what they show you, it’s what they don’t show you. Especially when it comes to stories. In other words, the more they show Osiris team, the more we want to get the game to see where Master Chief and blue team has run off to.

Could you imagine how much harder it would have grabbed you if it was Chief instead of Locke? What if Fred asked for drinks? Watching Blue Team do that would have probably killed me though due to the hype…maybe that’s why they didn’t. Everyone would have had heart attacks If it was Blue so they gave us Osiris.
