Where is the Bubble Shield?

I was looking forward to a possible return of the bubble shield. So far we’ve seen some type of fragile deployable wall, which is similar to the covenant drop shield. Speaking of the drop shield where is it?

I would love all H3 equipment in this game.

The bubble shield in its former iteration isn’t returning. The bubble wall is what you’re getting

Halo Infinite equipment is going a very different route than Halo 3 equipment did. Halo 3’s equipment could be used to help or hinder anyone, including the user. Infinite’s equipment is designed to give a clear advantage to the user, and the user alone.

Think of it like a hybrid of Equipment and Armor Abilities, the map-pickup and one-time use functionality of Equipment, mixed with the power fantasy of AAs.

The bubble shield was a piece of crap. Brought the gameplay to a halt not unlike armor lock. The shield wall looks like a decent comprise that doesn’t give to much protection to the user.

Yep. Plus one for the bubble shield.

Lots of fun.

But I appreciate that the new drop shield is better for for the sandbox.

Hopefully the bubble returns as option for custom games. If we can have old guns I don’t see why we can’t have old armour abilities.

The bubble shield is too OP in hard point type game modes

I hope the bubble shield comes back. It isn’t a guaranteed benefit for the player who uses it. Anyone can come up to the bubble shield and challenge you. It’s fun to go fight people in a bubble shield, especially if you picked up a good weapon. It would be cool to see all of the h3 equipment comes back.

I agree with this to a point. The deployable wall can be effective for any team that sticks together because they can all be covered. Also we don’t know if the sensor dart will expose enemies to just the user or the whole team? I would definitely agree they are more effectivefor the user directly but I did not find halo 3 equipment as game changers as they are in infinite.

Bubble wall. Obviously

The bubble shield got replaced by the drop wall.

I highly doubt its in the game at the moment. While the bubble shield is fun, its pretty overpowered when used by a decent team especially during objective.

If anything, include it in a update for casual gametypes and custom games.

I think the new shield which is segmented into smaller square shields is way more dynamic and much better. If an enemy decides to use one and hide behind it, I don’t just have to sit by and wait for it to expire or for the enemy to decide when to jump out, I can put in the extra effort and destroy one segment of it and then throw in a nade or straight up shoot the enemy.

Kinda lame though. 343 still can’t let go of the “empowering the player” mentality. Want their cake and eat it too.

It could be, we haven’t seen everything yet. The trailer has been focusing on the new items.

Bubble shield was just annoying. I am glad it did not return.

Drop walls appear to be the new bubble, dome and deployable cover. A shame really the one sided nature of the drop wall is way less interesting to me than the bubble. The focus on neutrality in the halo 3 equipment for me was the secret to their fun factor. But infinite is using them as tools for player empowerment over interactive map elements. WE CAN LIVE IN HOPE THOUGH.

Wall suits better IMO - not providing too much protection. You will have to use the wall with more precise placement rather than placing a ball knowing you have 360 degree protection while inside.

Pretty sure the shield wall is meant as a replacement of the bubble shield. Good thing in my opinion.

I think that being able to throw down an indestructible (from the outside) temporary piece of 360-degree cover is something that they don’t want to do for balance’s sake. I think the new shield which is one-way, and you can blast squares out of it to get at the user, or even melee out a square if you’re the one using it and have a convenient firing port, is better.
